Could be. I don't remember him on the topic to tell you the truth. But, Tomc...he was obsessed and quite jackbooted about the subject of homosexuality. I remember a number of disturbing arguments with hm about it.

I donno... I think to the extent that this is a political forum in a fairly broad sense and in view of the fact that the Republican candidate for president, a man and a faction I think you support and seem to find no fault with, is firmly against not only marriage equality for me and my kind but civil unions as well that it is a valid issue to discuss here. However, if you are bored by this topic or any other topic that comes up in this place then I'd suggest that you simply don't get involved. At least that's how I handle topics that bore me.

 

I have never heard an argument against marriage equality that wasn't based on someone's religion, or "tradition" or view of "natural" law. Oooops , that's not totally true. I've heard people argue that it would cost too much and that as a society we can't afford to pay for it.

 

The point is that most members of this forum (at least the members who are currently active) are favorable toward gay marriage. Those who aren't don't seem to vocalize their opinions. It's rather difficult to have an argument with people who don't have opposing points-of-view. Now, the Republican platform is something I generally agree with, but there will be certain issues where I don't. Just as there are planks in the Democrat platform some liberals won't agree with. That's just the nature of the beast. I don't agree with Romney's stance on gay marriage. On that point, you and I agree. So, where's the argument? You won't get one from me. Nor will you get one from most members on the forum. Therein lies the boredom with a thread like this one.

Now, if you want to argue Obama's "flip-flop-flip" stance on gay marriage, we can have plenty of discussion. But, Romney's stance on gay marriage..? Eh, not so much....

Under that criteria, I suppose they have a point, too.

 

No, under those criteria the anti-bestiality people don't have any more of a point than the anti-marriage equality people do.

That's 30 posts in a boring thread. I'd hate to see how many post a not boring thread might elicit. Besides, threads are only as boring as the people's imaginations that post in them. If a thread is boring, don't blame the OP.
