Now I have never understood the whole anti-gay marriage argument. Somehow, if we recognize gay marriage, it is somehow supposed to undermine "traditional" marriage. With a divorce rate of over 50% in this country and television reality shows using marriage as an entertainment vehicle, what exactly is being undermined here? How does Bob and Chuck marrying each undermine my relationship with my wife? Perhaps someone here that is opposed to gay marriage can explain this to me because I can’t seem to figure out why denying the same rights heterosexual couples have to homosexual couples is protecting “traditional” marriage in any way. BTW “Traditional marriage” being defined as one man and one woman wasn’t even true for Mitt Romney’s father’s parents. The bible even talks about multiple marriage partners. Mormons are promised like a 100 wives when they get to heaven. Where is this “traditional marriage” anyway?
Yeah, I'm wondering how all that will play out. Personally, I don't have an issue with multiple marriage-partners (not that it's legal, usually only two are considered legally "married") ...or multiple sex-partners...as long as everyone in the partnership is fine with it.
A guy marrying a guy is wrong but sister wives is just fine. Did you guys ever notice that coin, rlm, and David are kind of like sister wives. They are all married to the same wrong ideals.
I don't have a problem with multiple marriage partners either, at least I don't think I do. Haven't really given it a lot of thought. Pretty sure though that if they ever make it legal I'm going to take the bar exam and hang out my shingle. Talk about a gold mine for pre-nup and divorce lawyers.
The 100 wives the Morman men get after they die.... Are those all virgins or are some of them recycled? And if you're a really good Mormon don't you get your own planet or something? I've heard that you do. Kind of a personal paradise in which to enjoy those wives. It sounds vaguely Islamic to me.
Now that Tomc isn't posting, I am not sure if there are any anti-gay marriage folks here any more. To me, it is an issue of liberties and an issue of liberties only so I cannot answer the question.
Yeah, I think it's pretty much a "non-issue" on this forum. It's become kind of boring talking about gay marriage.
I thought that was Scientology....and had something to do with alien spirits, blah, blah, yawwwwwn... sorry, I guess when fiction finds religion I get bored.
I was going to be nice (believe it or not), and not get into the real reasons you "think" this is a non-issue, but you had to join David's little stupidity-fest in the "Rodriguez" thread again ...despite the numerous reasons why you shouldn't have... in which case: Let's. It wouldn't happen to have anything to do with Takiji, would it? It wouldn't have anything to do with your fear of saying something you might regret, something that might come back to bite you in the butt? Hmmm? ...."it's pretty much a 'non-issue' on this forum"... sounds to me like you'd rather not talk about it, or rather, not have us talk about it. You can deny it of course. (sniffs) I smell "chicken"...
Thank you. Uhhh.. OK.... It was just a little odd that you would mention him. But, as long as we're giving shout-outs: HI, TAKIJI, HI CLEMBO, HI JOEN, HI DAVID, HI STUJOE, HI RLM, HI PETER, HI DE ORC, HI RECUSANT, HI ANDY, HI IQ<1 and HI TO EVERYONE ELSE.
LOL... amuse me some more... roll over...fetch...sit! Gooood Coin! Now, don't you have a mess to clean up around David? Clean it up, Coin!
