Anything? Like the Truth! Perhaps you can list those failed policies. I just don't see them but the Bush policies that brought this country to its knees and that Romney wants to resurrect were sure failures but you conveniently ignore those proven failures. Maybe you’re not the best judge of what a failed policy is and isn’t.

I just have to say that every time you think that you've heard it all from good old Romney, he comes along with something like this story. He is like the gift that just keeps on giving. I am so glad that that the election is still 6 months away. Think of all the hijinks we get to hear about in that time. It just makes me smile all over to think about it. :D

This "...SQUIRREL..." thing is relevant, I think. In this thread, we are taking a look at Mitt Romney's character, as exhibited not in his actions from decades ago, but in his recent response to public disclosure of those actions. Apparently that subject isn't palatable to at least one member, so we get treated to the talking point regarding the President's "failed policies." If any of the current threads which discuss that talking point don't seem sufficient, it's simple to start another. Bringing it into this one is a transparent attempt to distract from the actual topic here.

I think that the article quoted in the OP does a reasonable job of pointing out why Romney's response is relevant: It speaks directly to his character. A recent op-ed piece by Charles Blow brings a similar focus: How Mitt Romney responded to the disclosure of this incident may be showing us something essential about his character, not decades ago, but in the present.

A picture of Mitt Romney is starting to be confirmed here, perhaps. It's becoming harder to avoid the conclusion that here we have a smirking, pampered, self-indulgent and essentially cowardly individual whose instinct when confronted with a tough choice is to evade and obfuscate, rather than to seize the moment and make something better of it.
