They wouldn't do that, would they? That being intentionally inciting fear in the public in order to gain political power? They wouldn't use the public's fear to intentionally invade a country or anything right? Say it isn't so!

...On a side note: Whatever happened to that stupid "threat level" thing that used colors? I think they still use it in Europe some... those Europeans must not have gotten the memo, you know the one, the one that says "Uh... this here color-coded threat thing is dumb... mmmm-kay?"

Socialism as either a political or economic model is doomed to failure. When you're speaking of rearing a child, you're not speaking of socialism as either a political or economic philosophy, you're speaking of a charitable undertaking by parent(s) based upon love and compassion (or simply duty because of their decisions or indiscretions). Regardless, socialism has nothing to do with a parent/child relationship.

But if you still insist on equating socialism (as an economic model) with a parent/child relationship, just ask any parent how rearing a child impacts their finances.

 

Heck, it's your family's responsibility to take care for each other, not the government's!

(I'm still curious about this claim the one with no IQ made claiming socialism keeps people from shooting each other in the street)

True, it's up to an idividual and his/her family to take care of each other. Now, what happens when that is no longer possible? Do you let the person slowly die, citing "personal responsibility" while ignoring their plight, or do you provide funding that pays for the basics (food,clothing, shelter)?

First of all, someone with no IQ is most likely dead... which seems to be what you'd prefer people to be when they need government assistance. Secondly, you still don't get it? That just means you are truely special.

I try to ignore most of his ignorant blatherings but this one little nugget struck me, I guess. At first I thought he was making an obscure reference to Animal Farm but I doubt he's a reader of literature. I just want to hear the explanation straight from the horses, umm, mouth.
