It has its own purpose and it does that well. Unfortunately, that purpose is not to disseminate general news.
Hahah.. yeah.. if you want to keep up with what color Suzie has dyed her hair this week or how many beers Teddy downed at his kegger last night, Facebook has its purpose. Dismiss that at your peril.
Oh, Tak... I'm being satirical (please don't tell me you didn't catch that). I know all the liberal/socialist/communist/occupy/Arab Spring/American Spring/domestic terrorist types use Facebook to spread their message. Dismiss it at your (- - yawn - -) peril.
I really, really think you missed the point entirely. The fact that politico's article included some Facebook comments at the bottom really, really utterly misses the point. You can't seriously believe that including a couple of Facebook comments takes away anything of relevance form the article. In fact, it adds a dimension. I just find myself again wondering what leads you to these pointless tangents. I mean, you do understand that almost all online articles have a Facebook component that allows people to comment and post the article to their own Facebook page right?
Thanks for setting me straight on that. The problem is that when you read anything posted by a someone on the Right it's dangerous to assume that it's satire.
Oh I know. There's one poster in particular here who at first I thought had the most wicked sense of satire and parody. I finally figured out that he was another Rightie being serious. I've learned my lesson.
If you've learned anything from this forum, I hope it's that conservatives have a "cool" sense of satire while liberals have a "cruel" sense of satire.
Oh I see. So that is your definition of cool as opposed to not cruel eh? I will search a few of the threads an post a couple of the cool satire posts here.
Oh look! Here is one of your cool satirical posts.... Man! Just reeks of cool satire. Right? No cruelty here just cool satire.
