So, what do you think of $5.00/gal gasoline?

What "I need" is for you to dispute any of the facts I've posted and stop relying solely on insults as your arguments. All you have proven is that I've returned your insults in the past. Big deal.

Yesterday, Chevy announced they were suspending production of their electric car due to sales being so much lower than expected...1800 workers laid off.

Facts are just such a nuisance. Incidentally, the Volt is rated at more than 90 miles per gallon by the EPA. The price of the Volt is $41,000 with a $7,500 U.S. tax credit in addition to any state tax credits. Did you actually have a point to posting this that I am somehow missing?

Just another aspect of the R People conspiracy. The rich are having a great time and everybody else is losing ground. And the brain dead stiffs who constitute the Republican base can only think of doing the same thing that got us here over again. Tally Ho, back to dark ages

By "rich" are you referring to folks like moen & his "let them eat cake" mentality towards the pressure rising gas prices have on struggling families?

Just another thought. Dear David, you keep posting your little slogan "Liberalism breeds dependency, but that's part of the plan" making me think you have problems coming up with anything new. However your use of this remark is wrong. Dependency is the root upon which human society is built. Every animal that lives in social groups DEPEND on each other...from ants and bees to otters and wolves and herds of elk, DEPENDING on each other is how they survive. Human society, culture and civilization are all the results of people DEPENDING on each other. Spouses DEPEND on each other, children DEPEND on their parents, co workers DEPEND on each other, their managers, the CEOs. DEPENDENCY has made us what we are today. I don't know what made you the way you are, but I'm certain you are as DEPENDENT as anyone. What good is a government if the citizens can't DEPEND on it?

Of course society only works if we depend on one another. As is with everything the RW'ers talk about, dependency is just code for something else that sanitizes the conversation and dumbs it down for the their dull-witted supporters to consume. It's never been about dependency, it's really about letting the less fortunate suffer so that the greedy uber-wealthy do not have to give up even their pocket change because if there is one thing they know, they didn't get where they are today by living by the teachings of the bible. And don't confuse those the Right that give their $10 dollars to the local church with those on the Right that sleep on piles of cash that can never, never be high enough. One group is wily, cunning, and manipulative while the other group is too dull-witted to figure out that they have an unhealthy dependency on people that are using them to maintain their power by stepping on the backs of those that support their views. Dependency my foot.

Even moen & kdawson should know the difference between "being dependent" and "being able to depend".....or was I not supposed to point out the difference?

To the original question. Welcome to the rest of the world. Gas prices have been this high in Europe and Asia for years and years. Instead of blaming Obama for this why not take a look at the gas glutton culture here. Those who insist on huge trucks and enormous eight cylinder engines because they sound cool. I understand many don't like electric cars because they don't like the sound they make. This is simply infantile. Remember when autos were first coming out the R people of the day were demanding we remain horse bound. Perhaps the high gas prices are necessary to make this nation sensible about energy. Of course I'm certain the R people will refuse to pay taxes for feeding children so they can afford to gas up the big, macho Dodge Rams and Cadillacs they drive because they have no dicks at all.

The difference is only in your own delusional world. Everyone is dependent.

So, we are simply supposed to fall in line & follow their lead?

Or because the cost so much & will only get you 60 miles down the road before a re-charge is needed?

I read a lot of history but I don't recall anyone advocating horses over cars based on politcal afilliation
BINGO!! This is BO's rationale for pushing for higher & higher gas prices!!!

One more thing. I live in a small, northwest Iowa agricultural town and know that many, if not most of the farmers around here DEPEND on farm subsidies. With out them they've have lost the farm years ago. They are also overwhelmingly Republican and conservative. By their own logic they are 'welfare bums,' but since it's coming to them it's okay. If the same level of subsidy went to intercity kids they'd be screaming unfair. Haven't seen such spinal thinking hypocrisy since I left the playground.

Really, and of course you can prove exactly what his "rationale" is right? Because you know. Pardon me for a moment, I have to go have a laughing fit.
