Been gone for a while, but wasn't permanent (Sorry David). Just the result of Takiji on a bicycle in vehicular conflict with white van on narrow road with gravel shoulder. Nothing broken that a little surgical structural steel couldn't fix. I don't think you'll want to be behind me in the TSA line, or wordprocessing your term papers for you. At least not for a while.
Whoa! As a former bike commuter, I know that is scarey stuff. Glad you survived it and are still here to joke about it.
Oh my gosh, Tak--how frightening! I am so glad that you came out of it alive! Rest and feel better and know that we'll be thinking of you and (if you won't be offended) praying for a speedy recovery for you.
Thanks for all the good thoughts (prayers also thankfully accepted ) Will be checking in, but you'll be spared much of my wisdom for a while. Typing is more problematic than it's worth right now.
Takiji, Takiji, Takiji... why in the World did you bring a bicycle to a van-fight? ...(sighs)... Anyway, it's good to hear you survived the encounter. Next time ...bring a truck... a really, really big one... vans move out of the way for big trucks. Bicycles? Not so much.
Sorry about your mishap Tak. I love riding too. When I lived in LA, I had to give it up after the 2nd time I was hit. In 4 years there, I was hit on my bike twice and read ended in my car three times. I am highly careful around bikes of all kinds because I have been there. Scary stuff. Take care of yourself and sue that Republican SOB for everything he's got. You know it just had to be a con!
Ouch and cringing over here. It sounds like you had a narrow escape to possible death. Good to hear that you are on your way to recovery.
