And I guess you can just ignore those on the Right that cater to the racist elements of their own party. As I've said many times, my own dad was a pretty racist SOB and a Democrat but his racist views were never nurtured by his political party either. You find dog whistle racist language actively and open practiced on the Right and extremely tolerated while the Left having racists within their own party to some extent do not. So yes racism can exist in either party but only one party, the Right, plays to it in order to keep the racists onboard. In other words, the Right gives them a home where they can feel safe to remain racists.

Only one party "plays to it in order to keep the racists onboard [sic]"? You mean like Holder? Like Byrd? Like Sharpton? Like Maddox? Like Wallace? Like Connor? Like Fulbright? Like Gore (Sr. BTW)? Need I go on?

No, please don't go on. Just hearing their names and thinking about how the Left caters/catered to them makes me ill.

Here, let me quote you, Mr. Twisty:

Please tell us where in that video Rick Santorum "singled out people of African descent"... tick...tock...tick...tock...tick...tock...tick...tock...

I'll answer when the mood suits me. You've made a false allegation, defended the false allegation and have been called on it twice. Yet, still you refuse to answer while at the same time calling other people cowardly for not answering. Certainly you can see the hypocrisy on this one since its staring you in the face.

Everyone, stay tuned to see how Mr. Twisty wrangles out of yet another tight fix. At least it doesn't appear that his faithful sidekick is around anymore to cheer him on.

After three pages of nonsense, I'll come out and be a target. He didn't say "black people." The audio is terrible, but it sounded to me like he had a verbal glitch and that he corrected himself by saying "lives, peoples lives." That is, he meant to say people's lives first, caught himself, and corrected himself. That is why the words before and after the word "people's" has the same tonal quality. It would be easier to tell for sure if the video didn't seem like it was taken on someone's cell phone.

Thank you HM. Unlike Okie, you aren't afraid to answer a simply question without contorting yourself into pretzel. I don't know how anyone could listen to the viedo and hear anything but black people but you certainly are entilted to your opinion. Thanks for your courage.

You're welcome. If you listen to the clip without preconceived notions and compare sounds rather than looking for words, then you might be able to see it could be something other than "black people." Two caveats coming from me, about me. 1) I don't hear low pitches really well--that includes male voices. I typically watch television shows that have a large male cast with CCTV on. That could negate what I hear--but as I said, I was listening for sound comparison, not words. The words immediately before and after "people" have the same sound, pitch, and length--and the second repetition is clearly "lives." 2) The sound quality is undeniably awful. Combined with my pitch problem, Santorum could have been reciting part of the National Anthem and I never would have known the difference if someone hadn't told me, "listen for this."

Listend to it half a dozen times now and yes it sounds like he says Black people but there is distortion

And there you've witnessed it, folks! The Amazing Mr. Twisty eludes yet another question with his snake-like expertise.

Oh, good grief already! Just answer each other's questions and stop the flipping sniping. You're all as bad as each other when it comes to twisting and spinning so just knock it off and discuss instead of whine like babies. It's a discussion forum, not a sniping forum. Deal or go get your passie and your blankie and let the grownups talk.

Who are you talking to? I asked the first question here since I started the thread. That is an undeniable fact. You have not answered therefore you deserve no answer from me. You're simply being childish.

The problem I see is that ideology cannot be trumped by facts with some people and if they run up against anything that runs counter to their long-held ideology, they simply balk at giving any response whatsoever so they twist and turn until they are able to convince themselves that their ideology is sound....Which of course it isn't. If you can’t answer a direct question, you should really ask yourself why not or at least explain why the question was not answerable.
Loaded questions are asked routinely around here so I tend to break them down and explain why there is no real answer the way the question is asked and why. I am usually met with a three or four page whiny rant that ignores my justifications for not giving an answer while completely ignoring my detailed reasons entirely. This passes for debate with my counterparts. Sad really.

Because I like you, HM I've decided to answer Mr. Twisty's question. Here is my answer:

I didn't hear Santorum say "black".

Now, Moen, would you puh-leaze answer my question posed to you? Please tell us where in that video Rick Santorum "singled out people of African descent"?

I'm sure moen either hears what he wants to hear in the video or he hears what someone on MSNBC has suggested he hears, nothing more....that's kinda how it works with LW ideologues and far left media parrots.

I think he found himself saying it and tried to change his words but just didn't quite make it. Now he has to deny saying it even though his real thoughts were betrayed by his own mouth.
