So are other, non-faith-based contributions. Your point?

Sorry, but I have to disagree again. I don't believe we continuously seek equilibrium. Just the opposite. Man is a disaster animal. We are at our best when the crap hits the fan. That is why papers print bad news and TV has so much violence. Disaster and mayhem stirs us, makes us rise from the barca lounger and actually do something. I think being balanced is probably a mental illness. It is in human.

I never said that human beings sought equilibrium. I said the brain and the body did. I just finished with a psychopathology course not too long ago. Mental illness is actually the brain being out of equilibrium, not being in a state of equilibrium.

I don't disagree but have to say that anyone can make statistics dance to their own tune.

Taxes are not voluntary and "faith based contributions" are.

I've set in my share of groups and found little to trust in psychology either.

Taxes are voluntary. If you don't pay them you will be prosecuted, but if you can live with that you need pay no taxes.

I don't know what to say. You've made your choice to be miserable. I have no need to share in that misery. Good luck and take care.

I think he has decided life is miserable and he won't be happy until everyone agrees with him.

It's typical lib-think....instead of lifting everyone up, they want to bring everyone down.

I think I've decided to live honestly and avoid all the little happy lies people tell themselves.

I won't make an amateur armchair diagnosis, but I think that it has nothing to do with "lib-think" and everything to do with something else. As I said, I have no need to be party to it. I'm a widow who lives near the poverty line but somehow I manage to do things I enjoy and still lead a fulfilling and happy life. Life is about choices and I've made mine not to be miserable and to cut miserable people from my life. (Sometimes I marvel at my still posting here . . .)

    Whatever makes you ha--

    Oh.

Please try to avoid addressing me directly, okay? That way I won't feel compelled to answer you.

Only a RW could be dumb enough to characterize what the Cons have done over the last 30 years as lifting everyone up. Well, the upper few percent certainly have been lifted up and out of sight to be perfectly honest. I wouldn't call that "everyone".

Please stop with the Socialist talking-point dogma. It gets old. When is the last time a person who didn't own a business (or the government) hire you?

Socialism is a wonderful idea but it is useless unless mixed with Captailism. The trick is finding the right mix for the current time while planning to keep a stable economic/social/educational future. With that said how can anyone not appreciate the Captailists for they are the ones who invent, build, and keep a society going.
