OK, it is fair to ask this question at this point. Why, when the only mantra we heard from the Tea Party, the Republican leadership, and every Right-wing blog before the 2010 midterms was JOBS! JOBS! JOBS! have we yet to see one jobs bill in the entire past year? It's been a year and not one substantive jobs bill has even been considered. This seems to be the most useless House of Reps session that has ever existed. What have they done that could even be called an accomplishment? Who do you fault for the Houses’ inability to even conduct routine business correctly? They take two weeks off every two weeks, even when in session, they pass meaningless legislation. We all know that there are two different groups that occupy the House of Reps so which group accounts for this past year of abysmal failures and WHY?
Been there, Done that . Got the Tee shirt. The fact the the Tea party ran on the mantra of cutting spending, but all you hear was something else. (Maybe that is why Mark Kirk, my fraternity brother, is now you senator.) Let's see;
Has anyone seen a budget come out of the Senate lately. The house has passed several, but not the Senate. OOPS!, the Democrats control the Senate, don,t they?
Let's not forget that the House (and even the Senate) had to pass a bill to get BO off his keister to do something with Keystone pipeline. And the debt ceiling bill that passed the House, but we got stuck with the job killing Senate version.
I believe simply trying to defeat BO is the best course to job creation. It's obvious to anyone who is capable of thinking for themselves that every action BO has taken has only served to make conditions worse....and his quest to repeat the same mistakes is pure insanity.
Typical posts from the CBS Team. The Republicans insisted they would create jobs if they managed to win the House and haven't kept that promise.
Geez...I thought they were "focused like a laser" on those jobs. That's what Tanman Boner said. Very impressive. Just look at all the jobs everywhere! Great job to the "just say no" crowd.
"The House has passed over 15 bills that would make way for job creation and economic growth. But instead of working with us and moving forward with the legislative process, these bills— also known as the “forgotten 15”— are stuck in the Democratically-controlled Senate where they have been refused a vote." (From post#2 in case you missed it)
I guess technically you are correct. The Republicans passed the bills, but the Democratic Senate sits on their butts. My guess is that even if the Senate passed most of them, Obama would also sit on his butt (aka pocket veto them). That way he would not have to make up his own mind.
