    You know, I really do think the republicans have an excellent candidate that a lot of people would love to see run and that is Colin Powell. I thought he should have run a long time ago. Condi, maybe, but Colin Powell would be an excellent president in my mind.

    Possibly, but I'm certain that the people from Bush, Jr.'s administration would fight against it. Powell was the naive fall-guy who they set-up to take any heat that came their way for the invasion of Iraq. That said, I'm also certain there are many Republicans who would support him. My pov is that I like him, but I angrily watched as he tried to convince the U.N. and the World that the invasion was just and necessary, when I knew it wasn't... using information that was, at best, highly suspect. He lost a lot of my respect when he fooled himself into believing obvious bs, which... even if credible... wasn't enough justification for an invasion. So, I couldn't vote for him... not if he's that naive and irresponsible.

    I'd like to see both Condi and Powell run together for the GOP nomination. Not that I'd vote for them but it would be funny to see how many RW'ers would actually pull the lever for two Kenyan Muslim haters of white people. View attachment 343

    Because he is prejudice! After all, didn't you know all black RW's (or at least RW relative to moen) are "two Kenyan Muslim haters of white people" since they cannot be angry old white males.

    They are Republicans and would catering exclusively to the 1% like all Republicans have done again, and again, and again. Why would I vote for two people that would push the wealthy elite's agenda even more?

    Well, considering that I voted for Obama and will do so again in 2012, I think your theory might have a large hole in it. What's your record on the whole black guy thing? I mean that I've voted for any number of Black candidates in the last 35 years. How many would you say that you've voted for since you turned 18? So to put your theory to bed once and for all, I seem to have no problem voting for anyone of the non-White variety but then again, I have way more opportunities to vote for non-Whites because I am a Democrat. That's just a cold, hard fact.

    Condoleezza Rice? You're kidding, right? The right can't do any better than Rice, Gingrich, Romney, Perry, Bachman, and Paul? Who's next? Oliver North and Mark Fuhrman?

    What is up with your constant references to Obama's skin pigmentation? I don't believe for one moment that his skin pigmentation had anything to do with your voting for him, did it? I don't think people vote for (or against) anyone based on the person's amount of skin pigmentation, do they? Wouldn't that be what some people refer to as racist and/or prejudiced?

    Well as it was the opening statement of this thread is refering to a Black Lady standing for office I do believe that he is entitled to bring up the Presidents skin colour and with another poster saying he was prejidice

    Were the original comment something to the effect of "a Black Lady", I would have no comment. However, that is not what moen is about. His terminology was;

    I really think Colin Powell would be a good candidate. I am not sure about Condi, she is smart, but I am not sure. Powell, on the other hand, has more of my attention. I would have to hear some more of his views and his course of action to correct the problems we have here, like I do every other candidate, but I really would vote for him. It could be because I am ex-military and believe he was a good commander, but also because he just communicates his thoughts really well.

    I agree. He has some views that I don't agree with, but there is no such thing as a perfect candidate. He'd make a much better candidate than Gingrich, that's for sure!

    So true. Looking at his accomplishments and watching him on the news shows, he makes a lot of sense, and I think Gingrich is a train wreck.

    And yet again you quote him out of context what he actually said was "how many RW'ers would actually pull the lever for two Kenyan Muslim haters of white people." which is a question. He never said who he was refering too you decided that on your own
    Now as far as I am aware Condoleezza Rice nor General Powell are Muslims (please feel free to tell me if I am wrong about that) so therfore how was he refering to them
    Also what exactly has his comments to do with his depiction of the President as Black (again this I belive is a fairly well known fact about the man but feel free to tell me If I am wrong)
