I think we have to each on our own determine for ourselves who is worthy of respect and who isn't. And this can take some time. And for someone who one or another of us feels isn"t worthy of respect there has to be a policy regarding how that feeling can be expressed, if we are allowed to or chose to express it at all. And of course we have to differentiate between posts not worthy of respect and people not worthy of respect. And does the unworthy post in question reflect the true nature of the poster or is it just one of those things? And then lurking in the background there is the awkward issue, at least for me, of how one would interact with a poster in person as opposed to how one interacts with him or her on line. It's all very complicated. And probably not worth worrying about. If it's so personal that you are feeling it personally then it seems like the PM function provides an avenue for working it out. If you want to work it out.

I admit to being direspectful at times, why I have is the issue you are having with me here (as opposed to other threads and conversations we've had in the past, where the "pot calling the kettle" thing is more relevant). You also have admitted to being "goaded into anger", which is almost the same as admitting being disrespectful at times, and is close enough to the point that I'll refrain from getting into a debate with you on it here. The difference is, I see how you can say you were goaded (whether true or not, perception is the subject of this post) whereas you fail to see my reasonings. To you my comments must seem positively vile and unnecessary. In some ways they are. Again, I have my reasons... but I'm sorry, I won't reveal them to you. However, I can say that in some measurable way, I respond in a manner that the commenter asks me to, whether they realize it or not.

"You're harshing my zen, man!"... Sorry for the conflict. Reason will either prevail or it won't.

Yeah, I know. Sorry. Zen-harshing is a "gift". Although reason will never prevail with people who are too insecure to back down under any circumstances and no matter what the argument.

No one has been able to harsh my zen, but many have tried. I'm too much at peace with myself to be annoyed by pests.

IQ<1, if this is your idea of debate, well, it's obvious you're a Master debater. I'd rather debate your idol, Moen. He doesn't come off quite as churlish as you:

 Is it your position then to believe, as most Republicans do, that being a Master debater is somehow wrong?

Oh, no, not at all. In fact, I hereby crown you the forum's Master debater. You've certainly earned the title. You might want to create a sig line with your new designation. Example: IQ<1, M.D. I think it has a ring to it. :p

Why does Obama hate the U.S. military retirees?

Obama Thanks Military for Service by Tripling Tricare Premiums

COMMENTARY | President Barack Obama began and ended his State of the Union address in January by heaping lavish praise upon the men and women of the military. He used words like "courage, selflessness and teamwork" to describe their ability to bravely accomplish each mission he set for them. The war in Iraq is over. Osama bin Laden is dead. Troops are coming home from Afghanistan. So now -- in a show of thanks -- the president wants to gradually triple their Tricarepremiums.
Tricare, according to its website, "is the health care program serving Uniformed Service members, retirees and their families worldwide."
The administration's admitted objective to Congress, as reported by the Washington Free Beacon, is "to force military retirees to reduce their involvement in Tricare and eventually opt out of the program in favor of alternatives established by the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare."
Under the new plan, Tricare annual premiums will increase 30 percent to 78 percent in the first year. After that the plan more than triples the premium payment in five-year increases ranging from 94 percent to 345 percent.
Additionally, just as Obamacare limits civilians with pre-tax flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts to buying a "medicine or drug only if such medicine or drug" is doctor prescribed -- or pay a 40 percent tax -- the new plan for the military increases co-payments of active duty personnel for pharmaceuticals and eliminates incentives for using less expensive, over-the-counter and generic drugs.

Despite the fact national defense spending has drastically declined under Obama's watch -- an expense described by The Foundry's Mike Brownfield as "a core constitutional function of government" -- entitlement spending has more than tripled.
Where defense accounts for only 14 percent of national spending in fiscal year 2012, 70 percent of the budget went to pay for the housing, food, income, welfare, student aid for the 1 in 5 Americans who are dependent on some type of government assistance.
According to the Nov. 1 report by the Census Bureau, there were 21.8 million veterans in the U.S. As of Dec, 31 the Department of Defense reported 1,456,862 active duty military personnel.

While military moral is at an all-time low and support for Obama among their ranks has plummeted, the president's new proposed defense budget will only force military families and retirees to pay sharply more for their health care.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics there are 14.8 million union members in the U.S. With hisunion support faltering and with angry union leaders pressuring Obama and congressional Democrats to step up efforts to advance their interests, it's no great mystery why they will leave the benefits of unionized civilian defense workers unscathed.

"As commander-in-chief, I want every veteran to know that America will always honor your service and your sacrifice -- not just today, but every day," the president said in November. "And just as you fought for us, we're going to keep fighting for you -- for more jobs, for more security, for the opportunity to keep your families strong and America competitive in the 21st century."
Of course, he forgot to warn them he was about to kick their existing health care insurance plan so far out of reach that they'd be forced to grab the plan that 53 percent of Americans want repealed for survival.

I see a trend here with BO & his healthcare takeover.....he exempts the unions & congressional districts represented by his followers from the clutches of Obamacare. I guess he figures they'll all fall in line soon enough. Yet he aggressively goes after veterans & organized religion to force them into the system as quickly as possible?

David, you may have a few questions about exemptions like:

    Are they permanent or temporary?
What's the process of aquiring an exemption?
Who is eligible for an exemption?
Who is ineligible for an exemption?
Why are some people or organizations eligible while others are not?

    But I'm guessing that, since you're a Republican, you're not. :D

I have 1 big question......How do I get an exemption from BO's healthcare fiasco???

There are a few ways to find out if you are eligible for one. You could research the law yourself and save some money that way, or you could hire a lawyer or other researcher to find the information, or it may be possible your employer's lawyers have the information already, or intend to find it in the future, in order to apply it for the company, and they may share the info with you, especially if it's a work-related issue.

I just wish inclusion was voluntary. Let me opt out & allow me to take responsibility for me & my family.
Why does BO feel he has the right to control my healthcare & take away our freedom to choose.

    I understand.

Me? I'd like to have access to affordable health care. I'm tired of being denied proper care because of my income. I'm hoping this law gives me a chance at being healthy.

Translation - you feel that you have a right to free health care. Correct?
