When did I express support of Bush on this issue? All I am saying is that BO has proven to be willing to fudge the unemployment numbers to support his agenda. Proof? How many times has the admin had to "adjust" previously reported figures? I don't recall that under Bush or Clinton.

You may not recall it, but it happened. The unemployment data is estimated based on numbers of people going on and off unemployment. If more data becomes available they change the numbers. The process is outlined at http://www.bls.gov/cps/cps_htgm.htm
I have discovered that a lot of people forget things that were done during the Bush presidency. For example, a lot of people seem to forget that Bush did the first economic stimulus package with tax rebate scheme. I remember when it happened and he was all about how it would stimulate the economy, but people keep referring to the two stimulus releases when there were actually three.

Why do you find it necessary to keep referring to Bush?
And your link simply describes the process, it doesn't prove that any other president has played with the figures as much as BO has.

I think they keep referring to the Bush era simply because the American economy sank under that administration No matter how much it might be disliked by Republicans you can not get away from the simple fact that the economy, the markets and jobs all tumbled dramatically under his Presidency He also introduced the Stimulus and the Bailouts
personally I do not think that the entire blame can be laid at his door too many other factors involved but the fact remains he was in charge

I am absolutely positive that the downward spiral of the economy was not Bush's fault alone. It was a long slide and that is why I get so aggravated when people are targeting Obama because he didn't fix it in a couple of years. There is no way that one person is going to correct decades of bad planning in a few years. I get really tired of hearing people like the Tea Party and the rest of the Republicans screaming, "Look He Didn't Fix It." Over and over again. I have the same problem with people blaming Bush alone for the mess in Iraq and Afghanistan. He didn't do it alone. America wanted revenge and he gave it to them. Every person who wasn't in the street protesting is just as much to blame.

But, and this is going to require honesty, don't you remember BO claiming he knew what our problems were & he knew how to fix them? Then ask yourself if he lived up to that very important promise.
The country gambled on a political novice with ZERO record of accomplishment, experience or achievement & we crapped out. I submit that if he promised to have the fix & didn't deliver (actually presiding over a worsening of the economy) it's time for someone else. Think about it. Every move he has made (and so far he has gottne his way on everything) has only caused the economy to slide deeper into a hole.

I do believe that he also stated that the fix woudnt be a quick one and that it would take longer than one term to get there, now lets be honest here this is what he said
Has he lived up to his word! well lets look at the economic facts here the US has sustained GDP growth for 9 months in a row, unemployment is at a 6 month low, the Dollar has not tanked and is still a viable currency I would have to say still a work in progress
You simply can not blame alone him for the state of America, that blame needs to be placed fair and square on your entire political establishment Republican & Democrat

Yes, I remember. I also remember McCain/Palin making the same comment along with every other politician running for office. I don't think you can say that any of them would have had any better success than Obama because the mess was way worse than anyone understood.

You keep bringing other people into the debate, why is that? Are you saying it's okay for BO to lie & be ineffectual because, in your opinion, McCain wouldn't have been any better? That's a strange way to justify BO's record.

Ummm. I am not trying to justify Obama's record. You say he didn't solve the problem even though he said he could. So did all the other politicians. The simple fact is the economy was a mess and the idea that one politician, no matter the brand, was going to be able to fix the entire mess in a couple of years is ridiculous.

On Obama lying about it. One of the things in life that really bug me is people being wrong and then apologize for lying. If you are wrong it isn't because you lie. It is because you were wrong. Being wrong does not, in and of itself, equal being a lier. If you can prove to me that Obama admitted he new he couldn't fix it and deliberately lied about it I will agree. In addition, I bet you could make all kinds of money by selling that information to the highest bidder.
