The funny part of this whole Cain debacle is that it is in all likelihood someone like Karl Rove that dropped the dime on Cain. Cain likes to blame "liberals'" but that is just how clueless he is about his own party. As a liberal, I’d love to see Cain as the nominee on the Right.

Now here are some Conservative talking heads putting their feet squarely in their own mouths.

"It's outrageous the way liberals treat a black conservative," fumed pundit Ann Coulter.
Radio show host Rush Limbaugh lashed out at the mainstream media for pursuing "the ugliest racial stereotypes they can to attack a black conservative."
"This is about blacks and Hispanics getting uppity," Limbaugh continued. "(Liberals) cannot have a black Republican running for office, can't have a Hispanic, the Left owns those minorities, those two groups can't be seen rising on their own."
The head of the conservative Media Research Center, Brent Bozell, labeled the story a "high-tech lynching," evoking Thomas' divisive Supreme Court confirmation hearings two decades ago, where he was confronted with sexual harassment allegations from a onetime employee, Anita Hill.

Wait until Politico reveals that it was someone like Karl Rove that leaked this story. The logic here is that liberals have nothing to gain by leaking this story now. If it was going to be leaked by liberals, why wouldn't they do it after Cain got the nomination? The only people that stand to gain from this are Perry and Romney. Look to their camps not any liberal group.

My guess it was one (or more) of the women he gave 'hush-money' to, who sees an opportunity to make millions selling their story or stories.

So far as I have heard, HE gave no money to anyone. Everything I have heard says he had nothing to do with the "event(s?)" after he supposedly made them "uncomfortable". You may think that is a technicality, but it is a very big one, IMO.

But remember, RLM, the left will spin any story to fit their agenda...

Will in the future and have in the past. It seems to me that I remember a name from the left to had a few more and much more intense cases (definitely plural) to cope with and he is (depending on your definition) still surviving in the splendor of the press.

Would you agree these women received 'hush-money' though, as a result of perceived, unwanted sexual advances by Cain? No offense on the technicality issue, but if it's a direct result of his alleged actions, it's fair game. I'd say that for Bill Clinton too, and have no doubt Bill was a sexual misconduct machine.

That said, yeah... the verdict is still out on what actually happened, my guess had less to do with what actually happened though, and more to do with these womens possible opportunities to make some money via their stories, true or not.

So far what I have heard is "unnamed sources" and no witnesses by a very left media. As most of the left chooses to ignore Fox, I do also for their such reports. When I hear some honest facts, I might change my mind.

I'll say the name for you: BILL CLINTON. Should all of us feel similar about Cain's alleged harassment charge to the way we feel about Clinton's rape accusation by Juanita Broaddrick? And the same way we feel about Monica Lewinsky.? And the same way we feel about Paula Jones? And the way Clinton said he didn't have an affair with Lewinsky? And then the way he spoke on television about the way he lied to us about Lewinsky? And the way his reproductive DNA was found on Lewinsky's dress? I don't know, should we??

You are assuming that this is from the Left again. That makes absolutely no sense as I have already explained. Karl Rove yes, the Left, highly unlikely. This one was home grown.

Did you just not read far enough into my post or what?

I was responding to what RLM had heard, not what you commented on. Try to follow the conversation, please.

It is possible but I am not buying that it is coming from the right. If there is one thing the extreme left hates more than a woman conservative, it is a minority conservative. They act like lovers scorned.

Then you are choosing to close your eyes completely. Rick Perry easily had the most to gain from this leak. Again, the question I keep asking and the RW'ers here keep ignoring is, why would any Left group leak this at this point? That makes absolutely no sense. Any Left group would wait until Cain was actually the nominee. Face it, this is no different than the Romney camp leaking the name of Rick Perry's hunting camp. The only ones that have any interest in sinking Cain is Perry and Romney. The Democrats are just sitting back and enjoying the show and taking notes I'm sure.

I seem to remeber being accused once or twice of putting words in people's mouths. I may or may not have, but this... this really is a case of that.

I hear that often, and bear with me here... I mean no disrespect... I hear it only from Republicans. I understand the idea of it, and look for signs of it from people I know and people on TV, but honestly... I don't see it. It is a rather rampant accusation coming from the right-wing right now though... and that may be 'blurring' some of what I can 'see'.

And make no mistake, thiere is a war going on between these candidates vying for the right to be the nominee. The animosity between some of them is palpable.

Has anyone even mentioned the campaign contribution scandal Cain is also involved in? Seems that if true, Cain could actually be charged with a felony. That might hurt his election chances. Of course it was the Dems that leaked this too. Right.

Herman Cain’s two top campaign aides ran a private Wisconsin-based corporation that helped the GOP presidential candidate get his fledgling campaign off the ground by originally footing the bill for tens of thousands of dollars in expenses for such items as iPads, chartered flights and travel to Iowa and Las Vegas – something that might breach federal tax and campaign law, according to sources and documents.

Internal financial records obtained by No Quarter show that Prosperity USA said it was owed about $40,000 by the Cain campaign for a variety of items in February and March. Cain began taking donations for his presidential bid on Jan. 1. [...]

It is not known if Cain’s election fund eventually paid back Prosperity USA, which now appears defunct. The candidate’s federal election filings make no mention of the debt, and the figures in the documents don’t match payments made by the candidate’s campaign.
