I said he is what I believe would be best for the country, not what would be best for a particular team to nominate nor that I thought he could win. And I have no doubt that Obama is slick enough to talk his way over many a better man in a debate.
I simply wanted to remind the board that while the RW'ers here can hurl criticisms of the Left's candidate, they are completely unable to put anyone up against him and competently defend their choice....If they could even make a choice. Go ahead and pick anyone on the Right and pretend he/she is the nominee and we can see how they match up in foreign policy experience, leadership, accomplishments, pizza delivery, whatever. I just don't see any of the losers on the Right even coming close to Obama's record, his accomplishments or even his campaigning abilities. And I imagine neither can you. That must scare the hell out of you. Good night!
I absolutely celebrate that none of the republican candidates compare to BO. That is exactly what we are praying for. If we are lucky, we might even get some transparency, truth, and bipartisanship that BO promised but has dismally failed to produce.
My views on Obama are in some ways similar to your own. But bipartisanship with your lot? Forget it. The reason for the Democrats' existence should be to crush the Republican party by any legal means possible. There is absolutely no reason to consider the Republicans as anything other than a political enemy with whom there can be no compromise and no concession. Work with you after your record of the last decade? I would like to say that you're dreaming, but given the makeup of the Democratic Party or, as you would say, the "Democrat" Party you're probably not. But it is what it is.
Excellent demonstration of being open to bipartisanship! And you wonder why there are problems. BTW, if memory serves me, I think you will find Newt and Bill seemed to have managed rather well. It wasn't until Pelosi, Reid, and BO took over that it really ended.
Ding Ding Ding, now you're getting it! Higher unemployment, insurmountable debt, decreased credit rating, worse economy...I hope no one on the right comes close to BO's record, we couldn't afford it.
All results of the Right wingers but…. Obama does not operate in a vacuum. Nor did the problems this country has start in January 2009 as much as the Right loves to pretend they do. Even though I have posted countless times that Obama turned around the bleeding unemployment situation he was handed, even though I have posted countless times Bush’s' debt contributions vs. Obama's, and even though it was the obstructionist Tea Party Cons responsible during the debt ceiling debacle, you choose to myopically see only fault in Obama. I can't do anything about your personal delusions. I know how badly you want to hand me even more tax breaks and screw the middle class but I have a lttle more sense and a hell of a lot less greed than you do.
I just don't see how any libertarian could be good for the country. Libertarianism simply keeps the status quo in place by rewarding those that are already wealthy and institutionalizes laissez-faire capitalism. We already have 400 families controlling the vast majority of the wealth in this country and they only want more. How is that the best thing for the country?
To quotesone of your posts; Now, let's roll this back. Just who controlled the House in 2009? Or for that matter, who controlled the House in 2008, 2007, and 2006? So by your own logic, it could not have been Bush's fault. The Dips controlled the House, didn't they? I know. I know. Your original post was in error. All bills do not originate in the House. Only the financial bills originate there. The rest can originate in either the House or the Senate. However, it seems to me that the dips controlled the Senate, also.
They didn't start under BO but they sure have gotten a lot worse. Did you forget BO's statement that he understood the problems we faced and knew how to fix them? Turned around? He took a bleeding cut & hacked open an artery!
As pointed out way back then, only spending bills have to originate in the House. You guys just have this strange tendency to blame everything on the other side regardless of the facts. Who passed two unfunded enormous tax breaks? Who started two unfunded wars that have now become the longest most expensive in history? Who passed the unfunded Medicare Part D? Oops! Was that all the Democrats doing because they existed? Just for once, take responsibility for the guys YOU put in office, just once.
Opinions not substantiated by any facts and you know it. If you had any facts, you'd have posted them. You fail again.
How can you wait a year when the primaries are just a few months away? What can happen? Rick Perry can suddenly find the little grey cells he lost as a child? Herman Cain might find some experience on his resume that shows he has a clue bout how to work with congress? Michele Bachmann could always buy a ticket home from Mars, I guess. Rick Santorum could go to anger management classes? Yesterday's polls show Romney leading in all four early states. This primary is almost over.
OMG! You blame Bush for the economy that by your logic should have been blamed on the dips, Then when I point out the error of your ways, you want something else to blame on the Republicans and say we "strange tendency to blame everything on the other side regardless of the facts." as you list what you blame on the Republicans. Think about that before you start the blame game. Just where did medicare come from? Social Security? And then there is the biggest of them all, Obamacare?
So just what has gotten any better? Unemployment? The deficit? Border security? Government transparency?
BO's campaign promises are opinion? Higher unemployment now vs then is opinion? Higher fuel prices now vs then are opinion? A lower credit rating is an opinion? Now I know there are many new people here & you want to bring them over to the dark side but please give them a little more credit.
If beating BO was going to be a challenge it may be a bit different but in this case any of the Repub candidates can beat BO handily. Ask yourself 1 simple question: Has BO kept his promise to make the economy better? It's a yes or no question.
They pretty much want to sit back and deride Obama while hiding behind the lack of making a choice when there are no more candidates coming along, we have had plenty of debates, and there really isn't anything else to learn about any of these people on the Right. They simply want to take the coward’s way out and not get behind one of their wonderful choices. It's really, really pathetic. Do you know what I think? I think they can't defend any of these clowns so they have to hide behind the total screwed up process that is the GOP primary. They know that the second the candidate is chosen, I will focus like a laser on that candidate and make him/her look like the clown that they already are. That is what they are afraid of. Talk about a lack of personal courage. I think those of us that support Obama should keep pressing them and reminding them that they haven't even made a choice so they have no room to criticize ours.
