Ahhhh... trying to actually find some logic in her foreign policy positions is truly an exercise in futility. Michele's latest:

I especially enjoyed her explanation to Bob S. that her position on leaving troops behind after a conflict depends entirely on whether she initially supported said conflict. No, I did not make that up. That is how she herself explained the huge gaps in logic as she expressed her views on national television.
Why is this field the best of the best for the GOP? What does that portend for the future of republicanism?

She is a "winner", isn't she? ;) Her comments are somewhat entertaining, and much less irratating than Sarah "Pailin'" Palin's nasally sound-bites, but are only going to lessen her chances for the Republican nomination. Don't get me wrong, she has supporters, but every time she makes one of these, well... idiotic statements, she loses ground.

My best guess for the Republican nomination is still Romney. Despite the controversies over his "flip-flopping", his stance on health care, etc., IMO he'll wind-up with enough support to win the nomination. Once that happens, and he picks a running-mate... now that's when the fun begins!

For the record: I'm heavily leaning towards voting for Obama, if he chooses to run again (99.999% chance lol). It's highly unlikely that I will find someone on the Republican-side (or Independant-side who runs) that I think can do a better job as President than him.

Had the Iraqis caved to our demands, we would have gladly left thousands of troops there indefinitely. Personally, I couldn't be happier that Iraq said 'No'.

As far as Libya, I don't think that we had any troops in country to leave there? But I have not heard if we will continue to keep forces deployed to be their surrogate Air Force and Navy. Again, I would hope that we will not.

We are leaving Iraq with Sunni fundamentalist and Shia fundamentalist in strong positions. As bad as Hussin was if Iraq kept on going in the direction of the Bath party, religion would only get weaker over time and so would the religious wars. Saudis and Iran are the winners here. They will battle it out over time. But there are more Sunnis in the world and the Sunnis have the nuclear bomb. Iran would love to bomb Israel but it is the Sunnis they really want it for. That is there biggest threat. Israel is an objective that they want to destory as is Christians but they know the final battle of world domination will be between Shia and Sunni.

It always amazed me that people thought we would end up with a stable American friendly government over there. Once we are out that place will go to hell quicker than Marilyn Manson.

But seriously, I can't see any logic to the foreign policy criticisms from the Right. They twist themselves into pretzels trying to find fault with every success we have had. Bush killed Bin Laden, Obama should have sent troops into Libya, Obama hasn't kept his promise to get us out of Iraq, Obama has taken troops out of Iraq too early, blah, blah, blah.... It has just reached the point of comedy and should just be viewed as such. I guess initially, I just didn’t get that their hypercriticism was supposed to be comical. Now I get it. ;)
