Right, but teddy can't see the difference since Ron Paul is not a liberal. He is the opposition and he voted against the bill. Therefore he is for the pornography from the bill. That is like saying Reid is against BO and the jobless because he voted against BO's jobs bill.

Thanks. Most of these look minor, but a few are things to be wary of in a politician. I'll research at my leisure and comment if I find each of those more serious accusations credible.

    What I've found:

    _____________________________________________________________________________________________

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/2984547.stm

Quotes from the article (dated 4-29-2003)

"Ever since the 1991 Gulf war, the US has had about 5,000 troops stationed in Saudi Arabia - a figure that rose to 10,000 during the recent conflict in Iraq."

"US Rear Admiral David Nichols said the Combined Air Operations Centre (CAOC) at the Prince Sultan base in Saudi Arabia would be closed by the end of the summer."

"But, he added, the base would remain wired and could be used again if the US and Saudi Arabia decided it was necessary.

"In the run up to the US-led invasion of Iraq, the Saudis said they would not allow American planes to carry out air strikes from the Prince Sultan base without a UN resolution authorising war."

    _____________________________________________________________________________________________

    A wiki:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_withdrawal_from_Saudi_Arabia

    Notable quotes:

"In 2003, the United States withdrew most troops from Saudi Arabia."

"Opinion polls conducted by Gallup from 2006–2008, find that many in Muslim majority countries strongly object to U.S. military bases in Saudi Arabia. 52% of Saudis agreed that removing military bases from Saudi Arabia would very significantly improve their opinion of United States. Also 60% of Egyptians, 39% of Jordanians, 40% of Syrians and Palestinians, 55% of Tunisians, 13% of Iranians, 29% of Turks, 40% of Lebanese, 30% of Algerians gave that opinion too."

"Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz had earlier said that the continuing US presence in the kingdom was putting American lives in danger."

"As of 2011, the 64th Air Expeditionary Group is stationed in Eskan Village."

    _____________________________________________________________________________________________
    Another wiki:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/64th_Air_Expeditionary_Group

    Quotes:

"Around 2005 the 64th Air Expeditionary Group seems to have replaced the 320th Air Expeditionary Group as the operating unit for Eskan Village near Riyadh."

So it looks like we haven't left completely.

    What I've found:

#20: I found a couple references about this. One states the year quoted as 2008, the other 2004. Both claim there were two video recording sources for the quote, yet say the evidence is missing, that it has been removed. Knowing people's propensity for recording illegally ...not pointing fingers... I find it hard to believe such a video even existed.

#19: Unable to verify or dispute. Actual quotes (as opposed to suppositions or inferences) made by Obama on the subject: http://www.citizenfundedelections.org/ObamaQuotes.html

#18: Yep, guilty of pandering to a crowd. Although in the broader context of the speech, he was referring to how the Civil Rights movement affected his parents, the actual isolated quote is a lie.

#17: Obama commissioned a poll in May 2002 to assess his prospects in a 2004 U.S. Senate race. He didn't formally announce his candidacy until January 2003. Technically if the accusation is true, what Obama said was a lie... but if he was looking into running since May 2002 it was likely he mearly misspoke.

#16: Only source found was from NYT, but don't doubt the story. Obama saw a problem, wrote a bill, revised the bill (while accepting large sums of campaign monies), and eventually the bill passed. The money from the lobbyists is an issue with me, as well as the weakening of the bill as it evolved. On the positive side, the nuclear industry did become minutely safer for Illinois.

#15: Unable to verify. Obama had ties to Rezko though; in 1990 Obama turned down a job offer from Rezmar Corp., has received contributions from Rezko (identified as being from Rezko or Rezko affiliates) and states those contributions were given to charities once the connection to Rezko was clear to him, the property issue seems to be an issue politics-wise... but I don't see the issue(s) personally.
#14: If Obama claimed he never accepted money from Big Oil he's an idiot. ALL politicians accept money from Big Oil in one way or another, Big Oil is *poof*ing rich and wants influence! So if true, yeah... he lied.

#13: If true, Obama lied.. or is just as dumb as #14. PACs are about influence.

#12: Unable to verify: I found info on the allegation though, made by Clinton, who stated Obama lied about taking contributions from lobbyists, when Obama's actual words were from Federal lobbyists.

#11: I'm not convinced it was a lie. IMO, accurate information from corrupt people attempting to influence Obama would be hard to come by. From what I've been able to find it appears Obama made attempts at avoiding these types of things, but (like all politicians) was unable to prevent this particular determined man from trying to influence him.

#10: Unable to verify. The info I found suggests this denial came from Obama's communications director and not Obama himself.

#9: Too vague to verify or dispute. Relatively insignificant lie if true.

#8: From what I can find it appears he said he didn't know where the records were kept, not that he hadn't kept them. The allegation is that he didn't keep the records though, and if I was him I would have.

#7: Unable to verify. I found several comments made by people regarding Michelle's salary increase and the million dollar earmark though. From what I can find that looks credible is that the earmark was not included in the final version of the bill.

#6: I wonder how many people we meet that we forget the names to. The one that killed me was this hot chick that played pool with me in a bar, she insisted I remember her name, a year later (having only seen her that one time) she asked me if I remembered her name. *poof!*... yeah, that one hurt lol As she walked away I asked if we had any kids together but she didn't even turn around LOL

#5: The IRS investigated Obama's church for political activities after Obama gave a speech there.

#4: Linking the pastor to Obama had been a cause back when this allegation was made. I found no evidence he lied about having no knowledge of the pastor's rhetoric. He wasn't in the church at the time and eventually found out, where is the lie?

#3: His father may very well have been a goat herder at one time, and became a man of priviliage later on. I noticed something while researching this list: that as time goes by the accusations become whittled down and become more broad. As an example: This particular "lie" of Obama was at one time "he was a privileged, well educated youth, who went on to work with the Kenyan Government." and has evolved over time.

#2: "An active Muslim"... interesting way of putting it. Yes, he was influenced by his childhood, but where is the lie? I doubt this claim, it appears to be aimed at reminding people of that influence by saying "he doesn't admit he's a Muslim" in a more broad way.

#1: While not truthful, it's more of an exaggeration of events than an outright lie. The Kennedys had funded airlifts around that time and Obama misspoke by saying his father may have been a part of that. In the January 2008 speech Obama caps the offending remark with "So the Kennedy’s decided we’re going to do an air lift." The actual idea for the airlift was Tom Mboya. Add it to the list.

Most of the claims in the list are either false, or intentional misreadings of Obama’s words, or misinterpretations designed to foment a dislike for Obama in general. They have been spread around from site to site and have been fine-tuned over time to be in one sense accurate, yet in another sense misleading.

You don't have the time to find a job, but you have the time to play with that! Good one!
    If you like to play with such things, try these;
    http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/50lies.asp
There are 50 more there and most all have been tested and determined to be lies.

Well it's up to Moen of course. But rim's cents has chosen to refer to me Takjerk or something along those lines. Which is fine with me. For my part I will refrain from any plays on the name, "rim's cents".
    Yours sincerely,

I see why you believe lies...you just lied yourself and believed it. Just for that you no longer have my expressed permission to copy my comments directly to your computer. Doing so now is a violation of copyright law. And no, responding to this by using the provided quote function isn't a violation, it's when these online words are copied to your hard-drive that it becomes a violation. I suggest using something like Notepad or Wordpad to create an index of everyone's comments (if that's your thing), but not the comments themselves (illegal). Write a summary of the comment, using your own words (and avoiding violations), along with a location on this site where the actual quote can be found. Then maybe you can stop being the criminal you are so much. I won't hold my breath though, once a criminal, etc.
You don't mean "play with these", you mean "fish". What you fail to understand is that I chose to fish, not at your suggestion (as you almost assuredly believe), but to learn how the idiots in your circle of sources think. Know thine enemies and all that.

The facts that cents suggested that particular source (a known biased bs site), and failed to refute any of my comments strongly suggests my conclusions were correct... that the "lies" Obama had supposedly commited in the list were exaggerations and misrepresentions. A sign of the weak. :D

Edit. Just to clarify, that would be the "rim" who I think you are referring to.
