The Tuesday night arrest of state Rep. Curry Todd, sponsor of Tennessee's controversial guns-in-bars law, on DUI and handgun possession charges. He looks like a sweet guy drunk of his @$$. View attachment 292
There's always a democrat who will condone this type of behavior: http://www.nashvillescene.com/pitw/...ry-todd-democratic-leader-undercuts-his-party
I don't own any guns, but I'm not against other people owing them. I'm not in a bar at the moment, and rarely drink, but can drink a dozen drinks and still walk a straight line... well, most of the time... depends on how fast those drinks go down lol ...But would I want people in bars to bring guns in? HELL no! Bar-fights happen every day, but rarely cause much more than a laceration or two... maybe a broken bone. Add guns? Are you insane? Sure, the result will be less drunk idiots around, but what about innocent people out having a little fun? Some of them are gonna get hit too. It's said often, but not often enough: Common sense is not so common.
How interesting. The one who says it is against the law to keep drunk drivers off the road is upset that a representative gets arrested for a DUI. I will bet that has more to due with the offenders party affiliation than his actual offenses.
Is this Michele Bachmann? Because you just seem to make up stuff when you don't have any actual facts to post. Show us ALL where I or anyone else said that it should be against laws to keep drunk drivers off the road. You intentionally mischaracterize people's comments you don't agree with just like you doctored their quotes in your signature line. You're like a cross between Breitbart and Bachmann without the movie camera and the crazy eyes.
Here; And, yes, once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic! see; http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/130028 http://ezinearticles.com/?Once-an-Alcoholic-Always-an-Alcoholic?&id=3759880 http://www.aa.org/lang/en/subpage.cfm?page=1
Did you notice how I said nobody is advocating putting this guy behind the wheel if he is still drinking? You proved me right yet again. I don't need your help but it is appreciated.
No I did not because that is not what you said. I quoted you exactly with "behind the wheel if he is still an alcoholic." You even disagreed with everyone else's opinion that "once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic" Again, your exact words. You could not back them up then, you going to try now that it is a person of the opposite party to yourself?
You can't argue against that kind of logic Moen... not without a straight-jacket or restraining order.
I'm tellin' ya IQ, it's like walking onto a school playground and picking the first kid you see and saying, "Oh yea!". Only that conversation would have more intelligence. I heard a quote from a rather well-known Lefty that said RW'ers just want someone who will tell them what to do and think. If you actually try to make them think for themselves, you run into a stonewall of negative backlash because they only respect authority not reason. That is exactly why they can't tolerate contradictory information. I makes them have to think too hard so they prefer to see the world the way they have always seen it with no ambiguity. You would think that this would keep the world much more simple for them but as we all know, change is constant and this constant change keeps putting them further and further out of touch with the world around them. That is why they continually pine away for yesterday. You hear that theme constantly from them. They understood the world then or at least they thought they did and then it changed and they couldn't change with it. I imagine that they walk around continually frustrated and angry and afraid in this world and you know what, that is exactly the stereotype that people have about them.
Either you're for us or you're against us. That's about all the ambiguity they can handle. Black and White they understand, grey they can't deal with. And I love their reaction when they see red. Or when they imagine they do. Oh and judging by the picture in the op, after an hour or so in a bar that guy wouldn't know which end of a gun was which. Wonder if that shot is going on his next campaign flyer. In Tennessee it would probably win him a few votes.
Stupid is stupid folks and this IS stupid. Next door to where I work is a bar. I've never been in there as there are too many stupid people in bars. I like a beer. I drink it at home. There are signs posted on the bar's windows that no "affiliation colors" are allowed. I might be reaching here but I'll bet they frown on firearms carried by drunkards as well. I had never heard of this Curry Todd until I read this thread. He should change his name. Dumb A$$ Moron might be better. I don't care whether he's a Republican, Democrat, Devil worshipper whatever. He's obviously an IDIOT. A drunken, gun toting one at that. Nice mug shot though.
The point that keeps getting ignored by our resident Righties isn't that this guy got pulled over because he was drunk, he got pulled over with a loaded gun on the front seat next to him. Guns and alcohol do not mix! If nobody ever ends up getting shot as a result of this new law, I will admit that I was wrong, but you and I both know the odds of that actually happening is pretty remote given that people are people. Let us wait and see.
I am not a proponent of Drinking and carrying a gun (btw this law prohibits drinking or being drunk while carrying a weapon) nor a proponent of Drinking and driving. I have to think, though, that this guy was probably a lot more of a danger with the car than the gun in his condition.
I live in Tennessee and I found this absolutely amazing. It was great. On a rational basis I just realized it was another episode of Republican hypocrisy.
Plenty among the Dems too, but the Republicans seem to provide the most entertaining ones. It's a gift
Wow, the mugshot pretty much sums up this guys night! No breathalyzer needed when you look that smashed for your photo op! Maybe he can get a law passed prohibiting taking pictures of drunk politicians caught in their own hypocrisy.
