David, I meant absolutely NO offense to you or anyone on this forum. I made a simple statement directed toward the situation in Egypt. That is what this thread is about isn't it?
Abso-frickin-lutely! Somebody tell me why Christians think that they should be allowed to attack gay rights, a women's right to control her own reproductive system, and politicize their congregations and then pretend to be the victims. If they’d stay in their churches instead of venturing out into the political sphere, it would be another story but you don't get to throw your weight around and expect that you won't get a little thrown back at you.
Bigots & hate-mongers have developed their own justifications for their prejudices over the years....
Isn't it kinda inherent that a church would speak out ("attack" is a little too dramatic) about what it considers moral issues? .....but it is good to hear the left is still working on that censorship thing....
When you have religious-based groups actively working to defeat gay rights initiatives both financially and verbally, it's sort of hard not to use the word attack. When you have Christians shooting doctors it is very hard not to use the word murder. When you have these same religious groups fighting to keep states from enacting same-sex marriage and supporting the DADT policy, attack seems like exactly the right word to use. Calling gay people a blight on society and preaching that tolerance of gays will bring down our society in every way conceivable is pretty much an attack. What exactly is being censored here? I, nor anyone else, has ever said that they don’t have the right to say anything. All we have said was that they cannot expect to not be called out, attacked, and ridiculed for doing so. We have the same right and neither should we be censored for doing so.
...you paint all people of faith with a pretty broad brush, don't you.... My faith doesn't consider gays a blight on society or preach tolerance will bring down society. While we're discussing it, if I recall, wasn't it you who recently used a gay reference as a pejorative? Not a very tolerate action, was it? It's comforting to see again how hypocrisy, bigotry & censorship are alive & well in the far left.
Right, we are talking about "your" faith here not the people we see at the value voter’s summit calling Mormons, Muslims, and other faiths cults. Let’s just talk about your individual beliefs as if that settles the question of Christian’s overall behaviors. The only censorship I see here is you condemning us for calling out Christians for their actions. For some reason, you think your type of censorship is just fine. I haven't called anyone gay as a pejorative probably since I was in 3rd grade and my excuse for that is that I was in 3rd grade. Saying I did without proof is just a silly distractive technique on your part.
Oh, so now your comments were about "some" people of faith...glad you cleared that one up...be careful not to run into anything while you're backing up. As for censorship, I never called for that (as you seem to) I only asked why your anti-religion rhetoric was so extreme? Now this is just a flat out lie. Ask Takijii.
No, my comments are still about Christians and the behaviors they demonstrate. You're the one that used the general term "religion" first not me. And then you simply tried to make it about your personal faith in order to twist the subject again. That's all you ever do. REALLY? Show me where I called for censorship. Here is where you did. Sounds like censorship to me. Why don't we just stop commenting on them? Should we just shut up? Should we not say anything? Man! Can you ever twist and turn with the best of them.
So "condemning us" is "censorship". How interesting. How much "censorship" have you been practicing here?
Obviously I didn't demand silence from you (you have the right to spew whatever hatred you choose to) I simply asked why your rhetoric had to be so vitriolic...but you knew that, didn't you?
The funny part about your original statement is that no one ever questioned their beliefs. I questioned their infringement of other people's rights based on their beliefs. I couldn’t care less what they choose to believe as long as they stop trying to restrict others rights based on them. If you can’t agree with that, you just want to argue for argument’s sake.
Funny, you make this statement alot when people don't agree with you. I guess this is where the ego & self-esteem thing comes into play with you, huh?
No, I make this statement when I have spent too much of my time making you cry like a TV Evangelist and have watched you twist yourself into positions Gumby would envy for far too long. All I see in you is a closed mind. You have never conceded one point to anyone in this forum. Either you are always right or your ego swallowed the key that unlocks your head. There it is!! There's that steam coming out the ears!! All I see in you is a closed mind. You have never conceded one point to anyone in this forum. Either you are always right or your ego swallowed the key that unlocks your head.
Just for clarification... what percentage of Americans would be considered "far-left"? And: What percentage of Americans would be considered "far-right"?
