Is Chris Christie Too Fat to be President?

I think it's kind of customary to support your own stuff rather than spouting random assertions and then expecting people to go digging for the truth of them or the lack thereof.

But I did do some digging and found out some interesting info on the subject. I did not find anything about an offensive comment made during the coverage of the Republican National Convention though. Guess I'll have to ask for some help with that one.

 

Here's one woman's opinion on the issue about Sarah Palin and her children being the subjects of mean-spirited jokes:

Some selected quotes from the blog (dated July 8th, 2009):

(On Sarah being offended): "...This is a woman who took off in an airplane from Arizona to Alaska after her water broke and barely made it to the hospital to deliver Trig..."

(On why Bristol was "fair game"): "...She then encouraged Bristol to sign up with the Candie's foundation to go on a promotional tour with her baby to promote teen abstinence. By doing so Bristol became an adult public figure, making her a legitimate target for public criticism..."

(On Letterman's remarks): "...Letterman rightly apologized, and acknowledged that he was not referring to her younger daughter but to Bristol. Palin knew that Letterman was making a joke about Bristol, but she still dragged poor Willow into the mud as well..."

(On Palin resigning as Governor): "...Now Palin has resigned as governor. Why? Who knows?..." ...and to this day it hasn't been made clear.

 

The only hit I got with the Republican National Convention added was a wiki on Sarah Palin's public image:

...but no direct hits, except the pitbull with lipstick bs after the convention.

As for Letterman. a quote: "...In June 2009 David Letterman told a joke that Sarah Palin's daughter was "knocked up" by a baseball player during a Yankees game. A campaign then began to have David Letterman fired or to force him to apologize for his actions, with several Republicans organizing a boycott of Letterman sponsors. On June 16, Sarah Palin accepted Letterman's apology..."

 

Another thing you'll have to remember....Quinn was widely criticized (before & after this piece) for taking cheap shots at the Palin family. It was exposed that she had a personal vendetta against Palin for some perceived slight that happened a few years earlier so you can't really use her speculations as a credible source.

 

Here is the one that always got me. I fail to see how it is remotely funny.

The question was what were some of the mean-spirited things that have been said about Sarah Palin and her children, and specifically what David Letterman said. This is what I found. Her opinions are her own, but they reveal some of the answers that were asked. If you have other examples show 'em.

Why did I say they weren't credible, that's your question? Maybe because she was exposed as bearing a grudge against Sarah Palin? Don't really think I waivered from that, did I?

 

Let's delve into another example of the uber-hypocrisy exhibited by the left.
Lefties have gone around for a while now making fun of Christie's weight without much criticism for doing so.
Now, Scott Brown has come under intense fire from the left for simply saying "Thank God" when a radio announcer mentioned Elizabeth Warren hadn't posed nude. Think about all the vile things that have been said about Christie here & on the national scene & compare that to Brown said. Now compare the coverage & the outrage.

 

You have an uncanny knack for not admitting when you're wrong, you know that don't you? The argument wasn't whether or not there was a grudge, or whether or not you waivered in that belief. (cough! Dodge!)

So no, you didn't waver on your opinion that Quinn had a grudge against Palin, and I haven't said you did. You said my use of her as a source for attacks on Palin and her family was not credible (#87). When I pointed out that it was, you agreed (#88).

I think you're having trouble understanding why I would post things you yourself have argued for. I posted the links to provide accurate information... nothing else. I had no agenda. That must be confusing to you.

 

What you fail to grasp is that Quinn can't be considered a credible source because she held a grudge against Palin. Your post was credible proof that a certain element would stoop to any depth to hurt the Palins.
So, what you actually did was provide concrete proof of the argument I was making. Thank you.
