Did anyone catch the latest from BO and his attempts to sell his latest jobs "act"?
He tried to manipulate the public & the media by making a little campaign stop at a bridge connecting Ohio & Kentucky. He used it as a back drop to highlight the need for infrastructure repair. But oops, there was an issue there. See, the bridge had been recently inspected & was in fine condition. The states wanted a a larger bridge to accomodate more traffic but it wasn't "typical of our crumbling infrastructure" as BO claimed. There is a sidenote to this too. Originally BO was supposed to use a bridge that connected Indiana & KY in his propaganda. The bridge was shut down when a crack was found in a support beam. Ray Lahood & many admin-types flocked to the scene & made a huge deal about the crack & our "crumbling" infrastructure. Lahood claimed this bridge was the perfect example of BO's plan putting people back to work. But, oops again! As in turned out, the 2 1/2 inch crack dated back to 1962 and had been documented & deemed safe many times in the past.
I think this charade by BO demonstrates the desperation he is feeling & shows the extremes he will go to in order tp further his agenda & re-election attempts.

I'll agree his team's choice of projects to emphasize weren't the best, but there is a need for infrastructure repairs. I'm guessing you're just confirming your hatred of Obama to yourself and others... and not disagreeing that our infrastructure needs additional funding.

You wouldn't be talking about the Sherman Minton Bridge would you? If this is in fact the one you're referring to it doesn't sound like it's particularly safe now. It's still closed and in need of significant repairs. And according to Wiki it was completed in 1962, which if true, seems a bit early in its career for cracks to be forming.

That is the bridge I'm talking about. The stories you linked to are the older stories, before what I posted was discovered. The crack everyone got so worked up about apparently dates back to the early days of the bridge....early enough that it was painted over at least times.

Oh, well that makes sense I suppose. Do you have a link to that story?

I guess we could wait for the Republi-Cons to actually come up with jobs bill...Oh wait, that was rhetoric to will in 2010. Jobs, jobs, jobs was their mantra until they won and now it is cut, cuts, cuts. Yeah that'll stimulate the economy.

What does your post have to do with BO using deceit & trickery to sell his latest "act"?

It's a jobs act. Being a Republi-CON, I'm sure that is an unfamiliar concept to you. :D

Come on now, the Republicans have had their jobs act in place for quite a while now, it's called the Permanent War Economy. They've given the Air Force planes they don't want, the Army guns they don't want, the Navy ships they don't need, and all of us wars that don't need to be fought. Let the Democrats fix a few bridges that don't need fixing, what's the difference? (please note I'm being sarcastic)

Heavy on the "act" considering the use of deceit in order to pitch it, right?

I just ignored that take because you think everything Obama does is deceit. Why would I start paying attention to your paranoia at this point?

What paranoia? BO's admin made a big deal over a bridge calling it unsafe when in fact it wasn't. Then went to another bridge and made the same statements. Again, untrue. Why would he do this? Or better yet, why would you attempt to justify it?

I do agree his people could have picked a better example for Obama to tout. They didn't do their homework picking those bridges.

BO & his people were merely looking for a site to exploit...they could care less about everything else.

I'd really like to read the piece that supports your assertions re: the Sherman Minton Bridge.

Among other things I questioned your statement in the op that...

And provided I links to articles that contradicted your assertion that all was well and the bridge was fine (see post 3)

You responded that these were older stories that preceded what you "discovered". I expressed interest in seeing the link to your discovery but got crickets. But since we're discovering, I have "discovered" with very little effort a news article dated Sept 27, 2011 which states that the bridge is closed for extensive tests and far from the crack having been "documented and deemed safe" many times in the past"....

I really hope this whole thing wasn't a case of a RWer who'd heard something he liked at some fundraiser and was merely looking for a story to exploit. I'm of naturally kind of suspicious and I understand that that can be annoying. But my suspicions are usually easily put to rest. If you have the facts on your side.

Well, let's see....the article you linked to clearly stated the crack dated to 1962. Now what? Are you "at ease" now?

Which fact I was not disputing. What seems to be untrue is your statement that the crack had been documented and deemed safe many times in the past.

That was reported by one of the local tv stations. Think about it, do you really think that crack went undetected for nearly 50 years? The bridge is routinely inspected & has been painted several times over the years.....and it just now gets noticed? Does the timing not seem odd? There was a telling statement in the link you posted- something to the effect BO & the BO admin were all over this story. Hmmmm.

Can't quite figure out why having any backdrop whatsoever is a reason to criticize a politician? They all do it. Then I remember George Bush landing on a carrier with a sign behind him saying "Mission Accomplished" and then I tend to think just how backdrops can be used to lie to stupid people. Then I have to ask, is Obama lying about our crumbling infrastructure? The fact is that he is not, our infrastructure is crumbling and using a bridge in the background to underscore that fact even if it were a bridge in pristine condition doesn't change the fact that we still have a crumbling infrastructure now does it? No it doesn't.
Again, more ridiculous hypercriticism of Obama strictly for the sake of criticism. It just looks sillier and sillier every time.

...again with the hyperjustification of everything BO? It looks sillier & sillier every time (especially since so many lefties are abandoning the SS Obama).
