Apropos the third Great Debate, what are some Conservatives (as opposed to Baggers) saying about Rick Perry and the other Republican candidates as well? Here are some opinions…

Bill Kristol writing in The Weekly Standard.

    Rich Lowry on Fox

Michellle Malkin writing on her blog (her site also contains links to other interesting RW sites)

And a couple of tweets (sorry about including Ann Coulter, but I couldn’t resist)

The above thanks to TPM who did the legwork on the links. I just read them and made a listt. I thought they were interesting. If you want to read what TPM has to say….

My favorite paragraph from Kistol's article:

The e-mails flooding into our inbox during the evening were less guarded. Early on, we received this missive from a bright young conservative: “I'm watching my first GOP debate...and WE SOUND LIKE CRAZY PEOPLE!!!!” As the evening went on, the craziness receded, and the demoralized comments we received stressed the mediocrity of the field rather than its wackiness. As one more experienced, and therefore more jaded, observer wrote: “I just thought maybe it’s always this bad...they’re only marginally worse than McCain and Bush.”

Why can't the RWer's here see or admit to this reality?

I would hope that Republicans would hold their candidates to a high level standard and not be afraid to criticize them and point out their BS. Otherwise they might find themselves ending up with a weak leader who does not even appeal to his base, let alone anyone else, 2 years after he is elected and is probably destined to be a single termer. Yikes! ;)

It gets back to the same argument....they are still better than BO!

Smarter, more experienced, more capable, more honest. Want me to continue? In fact just being average is better than BO...not being BO makes each one abundantly more qualified.

At some point you are going to have to face the reality most Americans have come to...BO has simply turned out to be a very, very poor Prez, he will most likely go down in history as being the single worst president we've ever had.

The cons love weak leaders that talk a big game but are nothing more than puppets. That's why they put up actors, beauty pageant contestants, witches, and pretty boys because they like people that look good but have no substance. They want people that will allow shadow corporations to hide in the background and pull the strings. A strong leader wouldn't stand for it very long. They can't have that.

Anytime you see the Dems put up someone like Al Franken, you find that the guy has actual educational credentials behind him. Palin has a second place finish in a beauty contest and a half term governor's position under her belt before she ran off to chase the money. And this is their idol. I think they're all just horny old men.

Odd criticism coming from someone whose political idol has the Immelet/GE/Chinese/Job Czar and Solyndra messes hanging over his head.

...and if Peter could dramatically expand his bandwidth we could begin to list every criticism those on the left have, are & will be leveling at BO....

How many of them have 4 years of experience in the White House? How many of them were the head of the Harvard Law Review? How many of them have multiple marriages? How many of them have been censured by the House ethics committee? How many of them have never held elected office? How many of them grew up with adversity? How many of them have a Nobel prize? How many of them have actually written their own books? Shall I go on? OK How many of them were at the top of their graduating class? How many of them have foreign policy experience? How many of them have killed Bin Laden? Yeah, you have to discount many of Obama's accomplishments to see any of these losers as more qualified but you seem to have that unique ability to lie to yourself and speak for everyone else at the same time.

Sometimes just being against something isn't a good enough reason to be for something else. And in this case, it definitely isn't.

Yeah, except this criticism of the Right is coming from the Right so that would be pointless.

I would think you would be much more concerned with the mounting criticism of BO coming from the left (what with new ones coming forward every day). It seems the anti-BO faction on the left is gaining momentum and libs aren't nearly as afraid of speaking out against him as they were even a month or so ago.

But that is just changing the topic to one you'd rather have than the one you actually have.

I think there's plenty of bandwidth. I've used some of it myself in this regard. And please, people do not fail to speak out about Obama from fear. What a Republican concept that is. Seems like everything boils down to fear with you guys. Fear Fear Fear.

But back to the point, they fail to speak out against him because they, misguidedly imo, either still have faith in him or still hold out some hope that he will not let them down. Or maybe they just don't want to give the Republicans the satisfaction. But as the faith fades and the hope dissipates this is changing. But it's always been there to some degree. I"m sure you know that the Left has been criticizing Obama almost from the beginning. You do, don't you?

You forgot to answer these questions Davy. I understand that there are a lot of questions but you should get started. Need help?

How many of them have 4 years of experience in the White House? 0
How many of them were the head of the Harvard Law Review? 0
How many of them have been censured by the House ethics committee? Your boy Gingrich

Now keep going! I want to see all those smarter, more experienced, more capable, more honest people on your list.

Why are you asking me? It's your corporate masters who own the media. Ask them. With the proper amount of deference of course.
