Anyone on the Right Committed to a Candidate yet?

"My Man Cain" just won the Florida straw poll and he has the same values that I have.

 

Other than Ron Paul I would have said Cain, he has a quality about him that I like and I think he would do well with a good team around him But if I was him I would hold off on this election and go for the next as whoever wins this time round will soon find that like President Obama they have been handed a poison Challice called the economy

 

Political experience really just means the person knows how to get elected.

I think executive experience would be more important. It is not like being a state senator or even being a US senator for a couple of years really makes you particularly qualified to be an executive leader. And, while they also have experience in getting elected, I don't really see state governors as having much more executive experience than a successful CEO. Same with a military general.

I would say that Cain would probably be under more pressure to pick the right VP and have some pretty experienced people on board for key cabinet positions *especially foreign affairs) but that is certainly not unique. But, I think to dismiss him as a 'Token' is pretty offensive. However, I imagine he is used to that kind of treatment throughout his life and he seems to have succeeded quite well in spite of slurs like that.

 

Honesty, maybe? A rare quality in politics but I think those 2 Republicans candidates actually have it. lol

Although Cain would be more actively socially conservative in his politics than I would like and his foreign policy stance about our adventures overseas is not what I would like, he would be about my only my second choice in that field. But, as I said above, he would need to pick some specialized people to serve under him in various positions. He is not a guy who could get away with a 'Palin Pick' for something like VP.

 

Confused Barack Obama did win the nomination and the presidency in 2008 on the Left therefore you would have looked like a fool for saying such a thing. Will Herman Cain have the same experience on the Right? You and I both know that he won't. Therefore, there is nothing whatsoever to disprove my comments.
The only demographic the Right seems to have included that the Democrats have completely ignored is the outpatient asylum crowd. As one young Republican tweeted after the last debate, "We look like a bunch of crazy people". Hey Right wingers! Way to lock up the crazy vote.

 

Maybe it's just me, but I'm rather tired of industry leaders being in the cabinet positions. I'd want people who have the necessary knowledge without all the connections to the industries. It lessens the chance their judgement is biased or corrupt. I'd want someone like Moen there rather than someone like Trump.

 

I don't know how to tell someone on the Right this, but government isn't a business. We don't have the luxury of running government like we run a business. It isn't allowed to fail or sign bankruptcy or sign chapter 11 or pay it's CEO 65 billion a year or pull an Enron or a put profit over people or all the other luxuries business enjoy. If you look at all the giant businesses that have failed and gone away and then look at how often the government has been able to fail and go away, you can only conclude that government should never be run like a business. It is just naive to even consider such a notion.

I think one might make the argument that the reason the world is getting ready to slip into a double dip recession is because countries are not run like a business. Which is easier..to run a large company where you have to make a profit or to run a large country where you not only don't have to make a profit but you can run up huge losses that you have no intention of ever paying off?

 

I'm all for balancing the budget too, and agree that in some ways the government is like a business, or a home even. The real problem is when we get into the 'shopping list'... the things we want government to buy/provide. One side wants to raise more money to enable it to buy more stuff and the other side doesn't. It inhibits the amount of money that can be raised, forcing the other side to borrow money it shouldn't (while borrowing money itself). Sooner or later the money has to be paid back, and both sides are going to suffer the results.

It is not all on the politicians. We have a populace that generally wants the government to provide more than it can and wants someone else to pay the taxes for it.

This is typical of many far left elitist wannabes. Deep down they believe blacks have a place but it isn't at the fore. Simply recall the comments made about BO by the likes of Slick Willie, Harry Reid and Joe Biden....when they believed they were speaking "off camera" their true colors showed through. This comment from dr moen,phd is very typical of the way "they" truly feel regarding minorities, blacks & womens especially.

 

That's assuming all the spending is necessary......and it's easy for you to holler for higher taxes because, based on the back story you've provided, it won't effect you in any way shape or form (except making finding a job even more difficult). Many of us have worked very hard to get to where we are & we resent having to give more of our hard-earned money to the gov't to cover the irresponsible & wasteful spending habits of BO (spending we don't agree with and know won't produce any positive results). You know, I have worked hard all my life in order to provide a very nice life for my family & to insure I won't be a drag on society but it seems BO is hellbent on forcing me to become dependent on gov't. At the moment, we are paying for my wife's college tuition and I have 2 kids in private school. In addition, we are saving for retirement & college for the kids. I am also making sure my kids get to see & experience things I was never fortunate enough to see, like travel & the arts. These things consume a lot of money- alot- but you know what? It's money I earned through years of hard work and sacrifice. Who is BO to say it's my "duty" to pay more? Crap, I'm already giving the federal gov't over 1/3 of what I earn + the state & local taxes we are required to pay. When is enough of this "shared sacrifice" enough. If I have to turn over 1/3 of what I earn to the gov't then everyone in this country should be required to do the same? What would be a more shared sacrifice then having everyone pay the same percentage?

 

Does any of this imagined covert racism of the Left justify all the overt racism of the Right for you? Sure it does.

 

What overt racism are you referring to, specifically? I have heard the accusations as talking points but nobody spewing this nonsense is ever really able to cite examples.
Now, as for the left goes, Clinton is on record, Biden is on record and Reid is on record of making condescending & patronizing comments regarding blacks in general & BO specifically.

 

What makes any of the Repub candidates "kooks"?
