Anyone on the Right Committed to a Candidate yet?

I have yet to hear one of you support any specific candidate as of yet. It is basically down to either Romney or Perry at this point. Can any of you start defending your candidate of choice yet?

Yep! He isn't Barack Obama (or Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid). That justifies any vote I make, IMO.

I was going to say something similar. Right now we don't really have to choose- anyone running against BO is my choice. But don't forget the distinct possibility that it may not be BO the Repub nominee will go up against.

How did you come to that conclusion? Is that how the media told you to feel about it so you're running with it?

If you want to know, I don't like either of them. Romney is McCain part 2. I think Perry is a phony. It's going to be a big mistake going with either of them. I'd take just about anyone else on the stage. Nobody from the debate last night could do any more harm than what we have now. Romney is like McCain. Maybe not quite as bad. If you have to know, I'd take Romney over Obama at this point. Yes. ANY change from the previous change just might spark something positive. With any luck at all.

If the primary were held today I'd vote for Ron Paul.

I'd be tossed between a bag of hammers or a box of rocks.

    Tough decision.

So far only Peter has been able to commit to any candidate, possibly Stu also. That should tell you how strong this field of losers really is. That is about what I thought would happen. Nobody wants to defend any of these jokers but they will continue to bash Obama because it gets them off the hook from having to commit to any of these highly flawed losers.

That is because BO is so far off the bad scale it isn't funny. And then the differences between he and any Republican candidate are so vast that anything on that end of the scale looks so refreshing it makes little difference which refreshing candidate we pick. If it will make you any happier, I will pick the only one out there to oversee a balanced federal budget.

BTW, I pick him because he managed to balance the budget amongst several other reasons.

In other words they haven't got anyone. I have to say that I'm surprised that Ron Paul isn't the hands down choice among the RWers on this board. As for me, I'm sticking with Bachmann unless Obama turns into someone I think I can trust and the chance of that happening is remote. BTW, the argument that Obama is so bad that we don't have to pick anyone in particular to support and that anyone will do as long as it's not him seems a bit lame coming from the RWers unless they are as cynical about the system as I am.

Come on folks! The "debates" are over and it is time to stand up and choose. It's easy to be against something but much harder to have to defend someone specifically and I don't see a whole lot of courage here. The polls have Romney and Perry with commanding leads. If you want to pick someone that isn't going to get the nomination anyway that is fine too but realistically it's going to come down to either Perry or Ronmey. The election is only a little over a year away. Can any of you other than Peter commit to either of these losers and defend them? Really, warning bells should be going off in your heads right about now.

    Over? Maybe - except for October 11th, 2011, October 18th, 2011, November 9th, 2011, December 10th, 2011, January 12th, 2012, January 30th, 2012, etc.

My comments are obvious, but I guess that means you won't see them.

Actually I don't feel any pressure to pick one at the moment because I find solace in the fact that any one of the Repubs is a tremendous improvement over the catastrophe currently residing in the WH. Regardless of who the nominee happens to be, it's a no-lose proposition for the anti-left.
While we're at it, would any of you lefties be open to a challenge of BO by any other DIMocRAT candidate?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, we get it, but can you at least sing the praises of any these wonderful candidates? It doesn't seem like you can point to any one of them with any specifics only the they are a "tremendous improvement" over Obama. If you really can't be more specific than that it leads me to believe that you really can't articulate why these people are so much better as you say. I'm not asking you to defend them generally as a group just individually and you can't even do that much. Why do I think you can't commit to any of these losers because you are afraid to take a position you can't defend? Too funny watching you guys twist and squirm. :D

Sorry if you can't accept the simple reason I have laid out for not having a favorite at this point and I don't know how you have come to the "twist & squirm" thing either.
By the way, did you miss this question I asked:
"While we're at it, would any of you lefties be open to a challenge of BO by any other DIMocRAT candidate?"

Start your own thread and feel free to ask that very question. I'd leave out the pejorative though. I tend to ignore threads that start out with insults. :p

Still love the way you think all these Cons are so great but can't cite one example. Very telling.

Heck, you want 1 example, I'll give you 9....this is where you can start to list the 9 candidates at the debate.

I could vote Democrat if they put up a better candidate (not Obama), and if I didn't like the Republican candidate. Chances of that happening probably about equal to me hitting the Powerball, but I wouldn't rule out a candidate just because of party affiliation. What's more likely to happen is that I don't like either the Democrat or Republican candidates and write in Ron Paul or someone like him.

You know what? I've had a change of heart & I think I'll wade ine. My 3 favorites are Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich & Romney, probably is this order. I can't say I agree with each one on everything but they are smart, experienced, proven & capable.
    Let's get it started.....
