I see how you could think that I "bought into the far left rhetoric & vitriol"... you definately are far-right politically. One thing I don't do is follow insanity, I may understand it, but I don't let it (or anything) lead me anywhere. Just like you, I see right and wrong, but we are viewing from opposite sides. The difference between us is that I can see both sides points... and lies.
If you think the current system doesn't tell your grandma she is too old to treat for her stroke then you must be loaded... with either money or alcohol. Hospitals will not treat granny 'till granny coughs-up the dough. It may not be that way everywhere in America (probably not in larger cities with teaching hospitals) but that's the fact as it stands now in most of America. You're worried your money and influence isn't going to be enough if less well-off people are ahead of you in line. As a less than well-off person... I'm looking forward to being ahead in the damn line for once. Hell, I'll be bloody happy to finally be able to be in the damn line!
If it is indeed a talking point as he says, it must exist elsewhere or I couldn't have restated it here. Even though I again challenged his assumption to show me where anyone else has come up with idea, he will never do so. It's blindly follow that ideological narrative that loops through his head endlessly or nothing. I will never understand what creates people like him.
II think part of it is that he's following the Reagan mantra of not dissing fellow Republicans. Rats move in herds when they live in the sewers.
http://georgewashington2.blogspot.com/2010/10/same-person-verified-billions-of.html http://www.wilx.com/news/headlines/120422464.html Yes, I know what the Defense Contract Management Agency is. That was my point. That was why I was linking them with the private company that the government in its wisdom paid to install the showers. I'm an equal opportunity decision criticizer. And I was going to bring up the Army Corps of Engineers too. The idea that the market will always do the wise thing or that you will make better choices if you are part of a corporation is absurd. Equally absurd is the idea that the government can run everything or that corruption is not a problem. Based on my own experience in major household name corporation I don't see how if the government were running the show there that the decision making and implementation process could be any more of a than it is now. Be that as it may I think that both government and the private sector have their place although that role differentiation is probably somewhat fluid depending on the circumstances.
I never ever said that "he market will always do the wise thing or that you will make better choices if you are part of a corporation". However, it has been my experience that they have a much better batting average than our government. And just it make it clear, that does not say that government oversight is not required, but I will say that government interference into everything is not working.
Well we seem to be slightly closer in our thinking than we were before. Or at least we have some ground on which to start a discussion.
I thought I was done for the evening but I had to log back in for this one. I don't know if you're a Republican or not but imo you're sure acting like one here. I haven't moderated anything. Nor have I have I interacted with you enough to really know in any detail where you stand in terms of government vs private sector or what your arguments are. We are just getting started here. Or do you think we have nothing to talk about?
I can share a 300 page policy manual with you that I'm forced to adhere to in regard to the proper & acceptable use of my tractor!
Now dr noen, phd don't pretend you haven't been caught red-handed repeating left wing talking points & trying to pass them off as your own. And now, before you protest too quickly, remember the Pelosi incident? Yeah, I thought you would. Now, you were saying?
How about ISO 14001 and Process Safety Management. If you understand them, you might realize why there have been no refineries built in the US. Oh, and Obamacare!
It must be available on line somewhere. Government publication is it? What is it titled exactly? I'd be interested to have a look at it.
It's an EPA publication, from 2010 (If I recall correctly). Maybe that will help you locate it. It is supposed to dicate how, when, where & at what time certain activities can be done using a tractor. My ag agent delivered it to me & I properly disposed of it...wouldn't want BO's feds coming down on mee various EPA now, would I? If you want to see how gov't interference hinders business please take time to read the multitude of farming regulations that do absolutely nothing to benefit the environment, the farmer or the consumer.
Should be relatively easy to find... if you're lucky lol I've researched various things on the government's sites and can tell you that if you get a comma or period wrong you may never find what you're looking for lol Still fun browsing it (the sites) though
I gave up on researching Gov't standards a long time ago...I just call the Ag Dept & get their opinion. I also learned to get it in writing. When I built my lake it was a fiasco. Multiple agencies had to be involved, meetings were called, geologists...all kinds of red tape. In the end, I had very little say in where the lake was put in or how big it was- all of this on my own land!
