Yeah, sounds like we are paying for his education, locally they are paying his bills. Next we pay his healthcare, like you said, What's then? His unemployment after he gets out of school & there are no jobs in the BO economy?

 

It's OK if there are no jobs, he can just get some money from "Obama's stash". I think we should all chip in and buy him a car, boat, motorcycle and a beach house. Livin' large on the socialist teet, baby, yeah!

I do but I'm more comfortable doing on my own rather than having the gov't intercede. I also try to take care of my family so you won't be asked to. I am also trying to save for my retirement so you won't be asked to provide for me.

Well, let' see....first of all, I earn enough to support my family & to insure I won't be someone else's burden on down the line. I earn enough that I can pay my fair share (and probably a chunk of your share) to help support this country. Can you say the same?

If taxation is the "confiscation of people's property" then I'd hope we all believe in theft. The alternative is no universal education, no infrastructure, no criminal justice system, etc. Assuming, as most 'libertarians' do, that you believe in the death penalty, where would the government find sufficient funds to put "the bad guys" to death, for instance? Rob a bank, or rely on voluntary donations?
