This must be another Christian statement then - “They[Tea Party} have acted like terrorists.” I guess not, though. Later the same day, he sinned and lied; “I did not use the terrorism word,” Biden told CBS Evening News anchor and managing editor Scott Pelley.
You thought talking about 9/11, the World Trade Center, and religous symbols and didn't figure out how Fox so called News would be thrown into the conversation? Pam Geller is the logical connection here. It certainly wasn't a big dig.
Where did "hate" enter the argument, dr moen, phd? Really? Everything you post is hate-filled. Your attack on people with different politcal views is hate-filled. Your attacks on organized religion is hate-filled. You began to make your first coherent point when you implied we should blame the criminals but alas you resorted to typical left wing media driven babble when you ended it with "like Fox News". Perhaps you should step back, try a little objectivity and really analyze how your posts come across...and I'm speaking generally, not specifically about this particular thread.
To me this whole thing is silly. Yes, the Atheists may have a point. To me the point is we're out to raise a fuss. I don't think a person that died that day or their lack of religion should be an issue in remembering them. I figure they weren't all Christians so why not put up a Buddha etc. As long is it's in remembrance of the victims in a respectful way. Of course that would require many folks to act like adults and show a bit of respect for one another. Hey let the Atheists put up their symbol too. Whatever that may be. To me remembering those that died should be the main point. I couldn't care less about yours or anyone elses views as long as the fallen are remembered with respect. 911 was a national tragedy after all no matter how you slice it.
And that is great! I think any memorial should represent more than just the Christian view. In that respect, the Atheist organization has a point. I just don't see why the rest of us should have to push Christian symbols and promote their beliefs. We do not have a theocracy in this country like you find in a country like Iran. There is no reason to push any religion or non-religion on any of us. If this organization didn’t “raise a fuss”, then who would? As far as I’m concerned they are doing the work that needs to be done and I applaud them for doing so.
Is placing a Christian monument at Ground Zero really "pushing" or "forcing" beliefs on someone else? Sounds a little overly dramatic to me. If you don't like the symbolism just move on, there's more to see at the site. Or, if it's really that big a deal to you, take the initiative & lead a march to have your own athiest, satanist, whatever monument built. Can't you just live & let live?
This from the people that couldn't stand to see a Mosque built a couple of blocks away from the site. Hypocritical double standards are the inevitable result of partisan stupidity.
No, this wasn't from "the people that...", this is simply my own take on the situation- I don't pretend to speak for anyone but myself. If my response was more common sense that you can fathom I apologize.
You said I pretend that I'm not partisan. That was a lie. Not even the dimmest among us could say I try to hide or deny my partisanship. So, in addition to everything else you are, you are also a liar.
You pretend to be nonpartisan by accusing everyone else you disagree with of being partisans. So in addition to everything else, you think your partisanship is better than everyone else's partisanship. I'd call that a pretty severe case of denial.
I am partisan to the Conservative school of thought because my many years in the real world have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that liberalism and left wing fanatical extremism is a complete & utter failure.
Well I so damn glad eveything turned out sunshine and roses for you. That is a good enough reason to believe all of the social advantages you were lucky enough to be born with also apply to everyone else in the country. The conservative school of thought comes down to "I got mine, F### You!" I was most likely born with the same social advantages you were born with. The difference between you and I is that I can see that not everybody won the social advantage lottery and I believe that we are only as strong as our weakest citzens. You on the on the hand, were voted most likely to be found hiding in a bombshelter surrounded by "things" and weapons trying to protect your "stuff" from the"coloreds".
Oh! Really? I do not at all find myself being held back by your ignorance. Can't score with any logic, so you throw the insults again.
