The Australian goverment has also authorised a investigation into News Corp as well as the rather large investigation under way over here in the UK

My guess is that in the end it will make them even more popular.

I am a conservative red neck and FOX news is like watching a circus. I like CNN the best and filter out any bias and think there is less bias on CNN than FOX. Just the facts, ma'am.

Well another top exec has resigned over all this Les Hinton (he worked for Murdoch for about 50 years) the boss of the Dow Jones (owned by news corp) also over here Rebekah Brooks resigned as chief executive of News International (she took over from Hinton) and to top that they have withdrawn the bid for BSkyB

Actually there is little actual pertinent news on any of the "news" channels. Fox just happens to be the most obvious at hypocrisy.

I think not! It is or must be hard for some people to listen to the facts when they are presented in a fair and honest manner.:)...Many like to hear only what they want to hear despite the facts.

I agree, jerwriter. Fox News is here to stay, despite whatever little bumps may come its way. After all, the other news media have had their own scandals without failing--something some people fail to admit. And, as I sit here watching Fox (yeah, I turn it on Sunday mornings for Father Jon) I am still impressed by the efforts they make to provide equal time to issues.

......Didn't FOX just apologize ...if people were mislead about their story on Obama's apology to Japan for the nuclear bombs America dropped on 'em? Which they (now) say wasn't true?

*shrugs* Whether that's true or not--and I can't say it is or isn't, because this is the first I've heard about it--newspapers retract stories all of the time. What people try to demonize FOX for has happened in journalism since journalism became an industry. I find much, if not most, of what they say to be more reasonable and balanced than I find on CNN--but that doesn't stop me from turning on CNN for a while on occasion, either. I won't watch MSNBC for love or money, though, not for news. Some of their scripted shows are okay.

Fox is in a category all by itself. There are minor scandals from time to time at pretty much any media organization but Fox has them pretty much hourly. The 24 hour news cycle is really more of a 24 hour entertainment cycle on Fox. They do know their audience and cater to their prejudices openly. They incite intentionally, they misrepresent constantly, they omit pertinent facts and bias their coverage so badly that it is literally bald face lying and nothing more. I understand if let's say CBS doesn't choose to report or cover a story due to time constraints or if they feel that there are just more important stories than Obama's birth certificate while Fox runs with unsubstantiated nonsense 24/7. They have a pretty open Right-wing agenda and that alone disqualifies them as news. They are no different than watching the Simpson's. Just entertainment for yokels.

Evidence, please. Do you count Fr. Jonathan Morris, Stewart Varney, and Dr. Peter Ablow as misrepresenting facts or inciting people? Have you seen the morning programming, which is very similar to any other morning show on any other network? Upon what evidence do you base your statements?

I'll say that the non-political news on FOX isn't very biased. The political news itself though tends to focus on inciting a negative view of non-Republicans. The talk-show people are, of course, heavily biased.

I don't think that the news on Fox is at all biased. Now the commentary does tend to be right, but I think you will find the news to be pretty much straight.
