I would say yes, if they approve of it. But you're talking about "Sin City"...right? Was that a rhetorical question?

    Dick Cheney is gay too?

15? Well, a double whammy, underage drinking versus underage illegal drug use. Neither good. I will modify my statement to say this. 15, everybody makes mistakes. Dumb age. Hopefully, by the time you're of legal age, you have enough sense to respect what is legal and what is illegal. Pot (an illicit drug that is currently illegal), shouldn't be an issue after 18. If it is, then you're a criminal if you use it. How's that?

Except that conspiracy is the norm for society today. It can easily be out of sight for you. Just click and it's gone! You have the option of clicking it away, so, you're not forcibly subjected to it. The children? Great point. Teach them that homosexual activity is the norm, and lies told to us by our government are acceptable too. Fantastic idea...don't you think? Lies mean nothing. Everybody lies. It's normal and completely acceptable from wherever it comes from, especially our government. They lie because they have to, so we should believe them when they lie. I would bet that God would first hate criminals who kill thousands of people to further an agenda, than he would those trying to highlight the criminal activity. Just a guess though.

Ironic that you accept the government story about why drugs are bad and should be illegal, but consider their story on everything else criminal lies.

Way to rationalize being a hypocrite!

I don't mind being one of the over 100 million criminals in our society.

As long as conspiracy theories are being discussed outside of the theorists home, I am being subjected to it. And I should not have to be. Keep that disgusting lifestyle out of sight please where the majority of us do not have to be subjected to it.

And by teaching people that difference is not something to be relegated as second class is not making it the "norm". Didn't you say people were wired that way? Even if it is a choice, It isn't a disease to be caught.

It is just making a group of people not be of a different class or caste as far as their liberties are concerned just because a group of people don't like it. If midgets are allowed to marry and hold hands in public, it is only fair that gay people be allowed to. Or, I guess we could ban it all in public and adopt burkas and such. Live under a theocracy that imposes strict conformity on everyone. We can call ourselves the Tomiban. Of course, we might have to pay royalties to the Taliban.

Okay. So you admit that the 9/11conspiracy is nonsense, but you are still sticking with it. Awesome. And really the two are quite the same. They are both dangerous. One physically and the other mentally.

The drinking age is 21. So you were still breaking the law at 18. and you knew it. Youre no different than those you accuse.

Your problem is that you don't know the difference between being gay and being a pedophile. They are completely differnt things. You keep circling back to pedophilia for some reason. That is just crazy.

Interracial marrige is only acceptable in society today because people fought prejudices like yours to make it so. It is simply a matter of educating people like you about gay people and no one will think twice about gay people being any different. You are the worst kind of liberal. One that actually does more harm than good for liberal causes. I guess both sides have them and we're stuck with you.

This is not the level of bigotry and intolerance that can be discussed away. This is like having a debate with a slave owner from the 1800s on whether blacks should be able to eat at the same lunch counter as him. He hasn't even rounded first base yet. No way is he even able to slide into home plate. This is the kind of intolerance that will take more than one generation to even get out of his descendants.

The saving grace is that this country - in the long term - whether it be slavery, seperate but equal, women's sufferage, interracial marriage, gay marriage or whatever - plods along toward greater freedom an equality. The short term battles may not always look good but the bigots and interlerants have a history of losing the war.

And Tom is not a liberal. He is liberal on the economic platform but he is nowhere near center, let alone liberal (aka libertarian) on the social side. He is an authoritarian.

I didn't say nor do I believe that bigotry and intolerance can be discussed away. I hope that I didn't give the impression that it was just a matter of an enlightening conversation and people would suddenly become more accepting of other people's differences. It certainly is a generational process but the process has to start with dialogue. Over time, new generations become accustom to differences in people and do not view them so much as differences but more like variations on a theme. Everyone knows this and I'm sure this is nothing new to you.

The mystery to me is why people fight accepting some differences so hard. I tend to believe that they either had some trauma in their past, some strong negative influence that they haven't been able to overcome, or they are just plain too dumb to learn beyond their adolescent years. Who knows how many contributing factors there may be? They also tend to like to cluster with others with like beliefs I suppose to try and find acceptance for their own discomforts that they can’t find in society. It must be like being in a constant conflict for them in an open society like ours. If you have ever noticed, intolerant people seem to always be angry and in attack mode like a creature continually on alert. Lashing out and striking and then retreating to a defensive position.

Nope. Prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas. So any legality of which you disapprove is immoral?

Actually, my political opinions are much more widely accpted than yours. Not that you can acknowledge that but I figured I'd just set the record straight.

OMG! That is the best self description I have seen you write. That explains a whole lot of your actions and reactions.

I am a centrist and your are as far left as the sliding scale will support. The reason you think your opinions are widely accepted is because as you say, you "tend to like to cluster with others with like beliefs." But hey, why don't you post a poll on this forum and we will find out who is right.

If you really believe that, why were you incapable of articulating it yourself? And only after I wrote it out for you, were you able to attempt to turn it around on me and criticizing me for demonstrating the same behavior I was describing. Maybe because you feel the need to attack anyone with different views than your own... Oh wait, didn't I just spell that behavior out?
