That is good enough! You don't know what the hell you are talking about and just like a typical democrat, you latch on to a liberal talking point and beat it to death. Christie flew to the game, then back to the governor's mansion for a meeting with GOP donors. The only way he could attend both events was to use the helicopter which is legally allowed to use.

Who cares? Go govern and miss the friggin' ball game! WAAAA! H.Y.P.O.C.R.I.T.E.

No additional cost? Maybe they could pick me up and fly me around? We all need helicopters, don't we?

If you were Governor, they would fly you around. I would much rather the Governor take helicopter rides than end up in car wrecks at 90mph on the Garden State Parkway requiring months of rehabilitation like his Democratic predecessor.

I've never been on an airplane, but I took a helicopter ride. I paid $20 for it, maybe the Governor could slip the pilot a $50 every time he gets a ride LOL

I'm not debating the legality of it. I'm referring to the "cut spending...just not mine" attitude. All the blowhards in Washington need to take substantial pay/perk cuts before they start talking about cutting the throats that can afford much less than they do. Like I said...hypocrite. Skip the friggin ballgame. Be governor. Take a friggin bus next time, elitist hypocritical (did I mention hypocritical?) pig. Far as I can tell, his kid's ballgame isn't official business, (so walk a**wipe). Self serving scum sucking right wing rapist.
Cut this you right wing hack. (the public serving pri*k, not you dude....well, you're a pri*k, but in a less dramatic way...I think).

So you think the NJ State Police are lying when they say that the Governor's use of their helicopter didn't cost the taxpayers any extra money? And I wish you would stop trivializing the whole transportation matter. Perhaps you are not aware, but whenever the Governor travels, he has a sizable State Police security detail as an escort. He can't walk, can't take a bus, and can't take one car.

Corzine came to the casino a few times to give speeches. Every time he came, he and his police escorts shut down half of the hotel porte cochere with their vehicles. If you are wondering why the Governor needs so much security, look in the mirror.

Plain and simple. It's HYPOCRITICAL to fly to go see your kid "play", and call for cuts, cuts, cuts. Do you not get that?

Would you even concede that it might LOOK hypocritical? Justify it all you like (and you will because that's why hypocrites do defending other hypocrites), it is, how do I say, HYPOCRITICAL?

He is the Governor of New Jersey! He has access to a helicopter for transportation even if that includes a personal commitment during his day from time to time. Hell, the President of the United States has two fully staffed 747's at his disposal. Are you saying he should fly commercial when going on vacation? He is the President 24 hours a day. Likewise, Christie is Governor 24 hours a day. Both need security protection no matter where they go. The President has a 747 at his disposal, Christie has a helicopter at his disposal.

This is a non-issue that the liberal demagogues have leeched onto in order to spread their filthy propaganda. It is rather predictable that you would be doing their work for them.

I'll take that as a yes, it is hypocritical.

So...an established hypocrite, say cut, cut, cut. Quite often, the least wealthy people are the target of those cuts.
Summarily, a wealthy republican, who uses publicly funded helicopters to catch his kid's ball game, tells the voters, that we need to cut, cut, cut. To quote a familiar republican touted line "We don't have the money for all these entitlements", this republican says basically the same thing. So...he's cool with his entitlements, just too many others getting theirs.
You defend him by basically saying "Well, he did it too!" (referring to Obama/democrats/whoever). He's your guy though. Your kind of hypocrite. I get it.

Perks, cash, excess, are all cool, so long as those perks, excess and cash, all benefit those "wealthier" hypocrites, would be the republican motto. There's something new.

"Everybody else" needs to suffer cuts, cuts, cuts. Just not me. Vote for me, your public servant, to fix what's wrong. The right applauds. The wealthy applaud. The poor, well, too bad.

I said nothing of the sort. If you think that the helicopter it not necessary for the daily transportation for the Governor then you should realize that it is a simply a NJ State Police helicopter and would be used for other things. Now maybe they don't need that helicopter and could sell it and lay off the pilot to save money, but that is really stretching it. The fact is that the helicopter has no additional expense to the tax payers. The example of the President was not to excuse the Governor's use of the helicopter, rather to show the necessity of it's use. Certainly you don't think the President should fly commercial when he goes on vacation, right?

Again, you don't even think it is hypocritical. Your entire argument is based upon the fact that he is a Republican.

  12. tomcorona

Really it's based on the fact that he is a hypocrite. You can't be for cuts, cuts, cuts, while using publicly paid for perks to see your kids game. It's laughable. Just another wealthy blowhard who think he's better than everyone else while spouting that everybody else is the problem. Excess, greed, all good to this group. The whining poor folks always looking for a handout are the problem. Oh...that is a republican philosophy though, you're correct.
When I have cash to wipe my rear end with and take helicopters for my personal pleasure, I'll vote republican. They'll be the ones to assure it continues. Until then, I'll vote against them no matter who is running against them. They defend excess, greed, and mega wealth while everybody else starves. They lead the way defending the elitist agenda. Christie is just the latest pig at the trough.

So by that logic, if Christie were a tax and spend democrat, you would have no problem with his use of the helicopter?

  14. tomcorona

I have a problem with anybody who preaches cuts, cuts, cuts, while engaging in excess and optional perks for themselves. Republicans are the most comfortable with representing excess, as Mr. Christie's optional, elitist and hypocritical behavior shows quite clearly. Kinda ruins his credibility right off the bat.

  15. Lehigh96

    Lehigh96 Clown Hater

So in your delusional world, "excess and optional perks" is how you describe something that incurred no additional expense to the taxpayers. Remember, the State Police were the ones who stated that, not Christie.

  16. tomcorona

Helicopter fuel is free? Pilots salaries are free? I don't care who stated it...until they start giving away helicopter rides, fuel, flying personal drivers, maintenance, airport personnel, etc., absolutely FREE to everyone who pays taxes..it isn't free. Once again...being personally flown via state owned equipment and salaries, to your kids ball game, doesn't have a damn thing to do with being governor.
Hypocritical. The easiest damn definition of the word and example of it in the world.

Might not be as bad if he and his elitist party didn't say "cuts, cuts, cuts" every 10 minutes, but they do. Hypocrites.

Had you bothered to read State Police say Gov. Christie's helicopter rides are 'no additional cost to taxpayers' | NJ.com, you would have found out that your "free?'s" cost $2500. Now it is your turn. Just how much would the extra police, gas, etc. have cost to escort him by car to the game? And probably the largest cost would have been the gas burned while the public was stopped to wait for the Governor and his entourage to pass. BTW, that part was totally avoid when he flew in the helicopter.

You might also try reading post #47.

Oh, and I and still waiting for your comment on Michelle's shopping trip in her hubbies 747.

The pilots are not paid for piece work. They get paid whether they are transporting the Governor or conducting a training flight. Again, this is a State Police helicopter, not a charter helicopter. All of the costs are fixed and would be incurred whether or not the Governor flew in the helicopter or not. Where is your outrage for the President who does the same thing. Oh thats right, he increased the deficit by trillions of dollars and has made no attempt to curb wasteful government spending during his term. Therefore he is not a hypocrite, got it.

They're not paid to haul around fat ass, publicly paid for, extravagant trips to little children's ball games either. The helicopter isn't there for his personal leisure trips. Obama isn't much better regarding that either, but he isn't the one running around yelling cuts, cuts, cuts every other breath. Your guy does. So CUT then. Start with your own excess, pig hypocrite republican scum.

I don't know much about Christie but he would have to be a pretty good Dad to go to such extremes to catch his son's ballgame. I don't think he has anything to apologize for. Heck, the guy probably works around the clock handling the people's business.
Tom, the fact you have such a problem about what this guy did to see his son play ball speaks more about you as a parent than it does Christie.
