Legalizing marijuana is a bipartisan effort!

I'm aware of a few exceptions for cultural or religious reasons too. Like peyote for some south-western tribes... but I don't know much about it so i could be wrong. I'm pretty sure Jamaican Rastafarians(spelling?) use marijuana as a cultural thing, though I think it's illegal even for them... which is wrong mon, just wrong.... let them enjoy their spliffs lol

 

Someone takes a drink in proximity of another, they don't generally spit the liquid all over the other. With pot, (or cigarettes) the trail of nasty chemical toxins floats all over the place imposing it on others. It's not that I'm in favor of alcohol being legal, there's just not much point of removing it from society at this point. Drugs, especially smoky, nasty, dirty drugs that emit nasty gases and IMO, cause stupid people to act more stupid, AND are currently illegal, all make for a good case to keep them away from a sensible society .

 

Are you saying that you only really have a problem with the public use of marijuana? FWIW, I support the legalization of marijuana but do not think it should be legal to smoke it in any public place.

 

Smoking it in public is exceptionally stupid, but, I'm still against it in general. For recreational use, I think it's a stupid idea, and I have seen the results of stupid people smoking it. I've not known pot to enhance anything positive in society (while using it to simply get high). Pluses and minuses considered. I'd still say the minuses outweigh the pluses (what you would call pluses at least).

 

That is such a cop out. So 80 years from now people wil have gotten use to pot being legal. Like it was once before. And nothing you say makes for a good case. seriously. I think if majority in this forum was against it being legal, you be for it. Same with the gay marriage issue. Enough already.

 

People can get used to anything, once it is imposed on them. Taxes, pollution, ignorance, stupidity. Doesn't make the particular scenario any less stupid.

I'm not a follower and never have been (at least since my younger, dumber days). I'm with the majority if the majority happens to be correct. Pot and gay marriage are equally stupid ideas, just different implications on the rest of normal society.

Now...call up a gay friend, light up a joint, Call for a new alliance of bisexuals wedding strictly bisexuals, and call it something wonderful and to be accepted, maybe huff some paint fumes. Enjoy.

Soon as you admit gay behavior is sometimes frowned upon, and may not be the best thing to endorse for future generations, and that the joining of two gays should be exactly the same as the joining of two heterosexuals, and something to be celebrated, and enjoyed by all, or that smoking pot is the best idea for a better society.

Well, now that last statement I'll completely agree with. Maybe you're starting to see the light.

 

Let me re-examine my position. If you agree, it very likely is incorrect.
