How much coverage are the Arizona fires getting nationally?

    The biggest fire is now over 600 sq miles and no signs of slowing down. Tucson is on fire as well.

    It is getting some coverage here in the Northeast, but honestly, we don't understand. Wildfires just don't happen here and we can't comprehend how destructive they are. I think each area of the country has it's own problems. Think of it this way. People who live their whole lives in the Southwest can't imagine what it is like to deal with 2 feet of snow during a blizzard.

    A fair amount of coverage here, but a lot of it is fluff - pictures of a sunset, satellite images of the smoke, even an airline shot of the smoke plume, etc.

    We have had some coverage of it over here in the UK primerily because we do get quite a few forest and moorland fires but not on that scale thank god (we are not that big a Island) just had another set delibratly in Dorset on the moors but thankfully the fire brigade managed to controll it before it caused too much damage.

    I saw about fifteen to twenty seconds of it on CNN yesterday.
