Who does Obama think he is? A cowboy?

First, he's kept us in Iraq and Afghanistan. Then he invaded Libya. After that, he invaded Pakistan. Now he says that he would invade Pakistan again. Who is next? Egypt? Syria? Iran? Canada? Who knows?

Sovereign Territory? Never mind, I'm Obama. Yeeeeeee-HAAAAAWWW!!

    May 22, 2011

LONDON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama would approve a new incursion into Pakistan if the United States found another leading militant there, he said in a BBC interview broadcast on Sunday.

U.S. Navy SEALs killed al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, mastermind of the September 11 attacks on U.S. cities in 2001, in a raid on his fortified compound in Pakistan on May 2, ending a manhunt for the world's most-wanted militant. Asked if Obama would do the same again if the United States discovered another "high-value target" in Pakistan or another country, such as a senior al Qaeda member or Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Omar, he said he would "take the shot." (Yeeee-Haaawww!)

"We are very respectful of the sovereignty of Pakistan. But we cannot allow someone who is actively planning to kill our people or our allies' people, we can't allow those kind of active plans to come to fruition without us taking some action," Obama told the BBC.

OK so I have to ask the obviouse, You would rather he waited until after another event like the Twin towers before taking action against those "actively planning to kill our people or our allies" this is your stated position is it? How would YOU like him to proceed if given intel that a peron in a forign country is planning such a event, tell me how he should proceed?

Would you do what he did? And if yes; would you do it again?

Too damn right, if it stoped someone from carring out such attacks like the twin towers, the Spanish and London train/bus bombings, the Bali nightclub bomb
I said years ago use the special forces to track them down and eliminate them, no qualms about it at all.

He's kept us in Iraq and Afghanistan. What are we supposed to do, completely abandon the mess that Bush created? That would be a huge mistake! If we completely withdrew all of our troops today, what do you think would happen? IMO, it would be an even bigger disaster than when Bush invaded Iraq (though I do support the Afghan invasion). The Taliban would battle their way to victories in Afghanistan, and Iraq would be even more vulnerable to Iran's influence.

Then he invaded Libya. We must have different definitions for the word "invaded". IMO, that means with troops on the ground. By your criteria, Reagan invaded Libya many times.

The World agreed that action was necessary to stop Gadhafi from slaughtering all the citizens of Libya that rose against him. What should we have done? Allowed him to slaughter them? We helped fight him off before when he was aggressive against Chad and Sudan, and Reagan has attacked Libya on numerous occasions, were all of those invasions? IMO, no.

He invaded Pakistan. While Pakistan doesn't generally enjoy the fact that America is targeting Al-Qaeda within it's borders, it hasn't prevented us from it either, it's what's called a gray area. There are regions in Pakistan where they have no influence whatsoever, and IMO, it's their fault for losing control of those regions.

I support incursions into Pakistani territories to capture or kill members of Al-Qaeda who have chosen to hide there. Pakistan may be reluctant to grant us unilateral support for these missions, but they haven't denied us access either. Again, no invasion.

If you want aggression, elect someone like Reagan... he never met a country that didn't need some invading or general messing with. The only Central American country I can think of that Reagan didn't mess with is Belize. He didn't start the fight in Afghanistan (Carter did) but he stepped-up the action, both covert and overt, that eventually led to the formation of both the Taliban and Al-Qaeda. Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Iran, Libya, Ethiopia, Angola... all countries he's meddled with in one way or another.

    Obama's got my vote.

You gentlemen need to ask yourselves how you would feel if a foreign leader sent armed troops into the U.S. (or the U.K. in De Orc's case), sent armed drones into the skies over your land or bombed you from ships stationed off your coast. Think about it for just a moment.

Certainly if we were condoning/supporting and harbouring such people then it woudnt come as a great suprise to me, while I might not like it I could at least understand it. But that still leaves my question unanswerd what would You do if you had proof that fanatics in country X were planning another Twin towers incident and you knew full well the Goverment of that country would do very little about it?

Quick Ps we have actualy had Lybian gunman murder a female Police Officer on the streets of London (Yvonne Fletcher) we have Lybian sponsord terrorism in the form of the IRA bombings not only in London but all over the country and then lets not forget Lockarby
From Afghanistan we have had the Bus and Tube bombs plus a number of other thwarted attacks on our soil

Let's put the shoe on the other foot, De Orc. You realize, of course, that bin Laden was convinced, as are many others, that the U.S. is not only responsible for attacks on their countries, but condone those attacks. Did that give bin Laden (and the others who are currently planning attacks) the right to cross our borders in order to kill our people and destroy our property? If Pakistan develops intel that another U.S. SEAL team invasion of their country is planned, should they have the right to come to the U.S. and stop the SEALs?

The U.S. is currently involved in armed conflict with Libya. Libya didn't attack the U.S. As we speak, there are generals at the Pentagon who are planning further armed assault against Libya. Should Ghadaffi attack the Pentagon in order to keep the U.S. from assaulting his country?

    Moen1305 Not Republican!

Ha ha ha ha hahahahahahah......! Thank you for the morning laugh! Coming from a Republican, these words could not be funnier. Hypercriticism has produced some of the most hilarious statements of the decade. Were you asking these questions when Bush invaded Iraq and giving serial reasons for doing it? Hell no you weren’t! Pleeeeez! Untwist your contorted logic and land back on this planet. You’re making my side hurt.

Sorry, De Orc but Obama's stated reasons for attacking Libya are not because of anything that happened in the U.K. or even for the Lockerbie bombing. They are, in his words, for "humanitarian" reasons - nothing else. Obama needs to weigh all the options before invading any more countries. That's what I would do.

I think it's quite hilarious that the liberals and the democrats are now the war mongers and the hawks among us. I guess they just blow with the political wind. And they're quite good at blowing, you know. BTW, I wasn't on this forum when Bush invaded Iraq. But, thanks for thinking of me.

Youre just making an arguement for the sake of being against Obama. Why would a foreign nation do that to the US in the first place? Give us a scenario on which to base an opinion.

So you are saying that Republicans were the war mongers of yesterday? I thought they always denied that sort of thing.

Asking a question like that is akin to putting words in a person's mouth. I meant nothing of the sort. Liberals and democrats traditionally portray themselves as peace-loving pacifists, but when it comes to backing a hawk like Obama, they'll switch their sympathies in a heartbeat.

Let the UN battle Libya if they want. I'm not keen on my president being a war monger.
