Obama Did What Bush Couldn't

That is exactly it. And, remembering back to the 2008 election where McCain/Palin were lambasting Obama for saying he would go into Pakistan to get Obama whether or not Pakistan helped speaks volumes. How can anyone now not assume that if McCain/Palin won, we would not be having this conversation? To any reasonable person it is obvious that Pakistan was not fully cooperating. If they were, they'd have gotten bin Laden themselves. Should have been easy enough for them, just drive down the road and there he is. Instead, the US has to send a team by helicopter, thousands of miles into the heart of Pakistan and take great risk, and thankfully they got it right. Look what happened to Carter and his attempt to pull the hostages out of Iran. That could have happened again. Yes, the SEAL team risked their lives, but Obama risked his political future on it too. Any Republican who isn't patting Obama on the back right now is not a real American.

I wouldn't go that far, but they should either pat him on the back or shut the **** up.

Doesn't really thrill me but I do find it mildly amusing. You know I might actually like you in real life dude. Politics would suit you, no doubt. Go for it. Hell, I'd probably vote for you just because you have some balz. We need balz.

Had McCain been prez and received the same info as Obama, I suspect he would also have sent in the SEALs. The point is moot, however, since it's all conjecture. Candidates say a lot of things during the campaign, but when it comes down to where the rubber hits the road, presidents will often do things you never expected from them. Politics is strange that way...

I'll agree with that statement 100%.

Yes, that's true. But, did Obama really have a choice? Had he not gone in, can you imagine the hue and cry that would have arisen against him had U.S. citizens been told that he had intel on the location of bin Laden but chose not to act?

I'll give Obama credit for making the right decision in this case. I really don't want to touch him so any back-patting is out of the question.

Would you say..."Mission accomplished?" I'm sure the prez appreciates your support too. After all, anybody could have done it (unless you are George Bush).

Seems that the CIA had credible information in 2003 that bin Laden was in Pakistan.

Well....George said he "wasn't really concerned" about Osama. I guess he actually meant it.

This is how Fox News celebrates this event.

I distinctly recall two different Presidents declaring war on terror. Bin Laden was a leader of the terrorist army. Therefore, we were at war with Bin Laden. No way that idiot is ever going to understand, so I say we just kill him. Send in the SEALs. Would be really easy. Just tell them, when you see a fat guy with no forehead, aim where his forehead should be. Splatter his brains all over the FOX News logo and Glenn Beck's chalkboard. Wrap his body in copies of the Constitution, stick him in a giant blender, and pour that judge smothie in a toilet after dropping a deuce and flush him like the piece of crap he is.

Hallelujah! Holy shi*! Where's the Tylenol?

Remember this one? That's where Bush said he was hiding.

Nice try but nearly as funny. The Right will do everything they can to downplay Obama's leadership but he has proven again and again he is a great leader especially in foreign affairs. While the cartoon I thought was funny had a ironic twist that made it funny, yours just sounds like sour grapes. Can your say Obama derangement syndrome?

First off, bravo to BO for his part in this action.
    Just a couple of observations
...didn't BO strike you as being awfully arrogant in his initial press conference with all the "I" "me" and "my's"?
...did you catch the situation room photo with the general at the desk & BO sitting off to the side in a much smaller chair, chewing his nails like a child?
...isn't it odd that BO called on the SEALS to get this job done when just a few weeks ago he was threatening to stop paying them?
...NBC news reported this morning that the lead that ultimately nailed bin Laden came from info extracted via waterboarding (when we had a different President).

The information came from standard interrogation methods not waterboarding according to the CIA.

David do you think he should have been sat there all smiles and good cheer while sending young soldiers into a situation that could have resulted in there deaths! no I would rather he or any other leader sat there chewing there nails and praying nothing went wrong
Why not admit it, it sticks in your throat that it was Obama who managed this and as you keep on harping about when things have gone wrong he is to blame well this time it went right so he is should get the kudos

Therein lies the falsehood. Certainly it was Obama who gave the order to kill, but it was our intelligence community who gathered the info (not Obama) and it was the SEALs who carried out the task (not Obama). It's the hard-working people in the field who deserve the accolades. I give credit to Obama for approving the kill, but I salute all the others behind the scenes who did the actual work (especially those who risked their lives in the line of fire).

It's not a flasehood it is fact, regardless of how many hard working people there might have been in the field without his authorisation this woudnt have happend now would it? No matter how you want to look at it that is the truth of the matter
He is the one who before he even got the white house gig said that he would sanction moves into Pakistan if Bin bag was found to be there no other politician was willing to say that and he carried out his promise in fact most of them came right out and said they woudnt do such a thing
Certainly those who found the info and carried out the raid desrve all the kudos going but I stress this once again without his say so it woudnt have happend
