That's right. Obama got the job done. Bush had 8 years. EIGHT YEARS

That's twice the amount of time it took us to win the Second World War.

It is worth repeating that twice:

That's twice the amount of time it took us to win the Second World War.

    Obama got the job done.

If you have listened, this was the outcome of Bush's work from 2006.

Here is a video of prominent Republicans saying Obama should not attack terrorists in Pakistan.

Oh, and look who we have here saying what a bad guy Obama was for saying he'd send troops into Pakistan.

He gave the order, just as any president would have done. It was the SEALs who did the job; they're the ones we should be applauding. If any SEALs are reading this, great job! You're fantastic!!!!!!

Beyond that, Peter, you've engaged in specious reasoning. This past January, you might just as well have said, "Obama's had two years to find Bin Laden; why hasn't he found him yet"? It doesn't work that way and you know it. Methinks I detect a bit of sarcasm in your words...

Honestly, I think we should continue to run covert operations into Pakistan in the hope that they declare war on the United States. We can't win the war in Afghanistan because the Taliban's command and control is headquartered in Pakistan and protected by the Pakistani government. Unless we are able to enter Pakistan militarily, that war is futile.

But then again, all of these wars are futile. There is only one way to win these guerilla wars. We must be committed to killing the enemy without concern for collateral damage. Civilians in the warzone should have two options, rat out the enemy and save your own skin, or flee. The third option should be certain death. Without the human shields, our enemies would stand no chance against our superior military force. However, our government is committed to minimizing collateral damage ensuring that we lose the wars and ensuring that more Americans pay with their lives. Freedom is not cheap, the people who are gaining the freedom, should be the ones willing to pay with their lives.

Palin is an idiot. Anyone who would attempt to use what is a huge win for this President against him is a moron. If she is ever the republican nominee, I am voting for Jimmy McMillan.

You need to give credit where credit is due. The decision to use the SEAL team for this mission was very risky politically. If this mission failed, Obama would have faced incredible scrutiny from those monday morning qb's who would have advocated any other option. He was willing to take the risky scenario that also had a highest pay off. Having said that, the SEALs did a phenomenal job and every American owes them a debt of gratitude.

I've given Obama credit for making the decision, but it was the SEALs who risked their lives (literally - not just politically) and they're the ones who should be honored.

While this is a victory for Obama and the Democrats, it is a bigger victory for the United States of America. We are all Americans no matter our political affiliation. And there are way too many people who don't respect the Office of the President in this country. I am not a Democrat, I did not vote for Obama, I most likely will not vote for him next year, but he is still my President and I will always give him the respect that he and the office of the President deserves.

In this case, he deserves our respect and recognition for decision making that led to an enormous victory in the war on terror.

Well, if George had been in there when this happened, the right wing would have been breaking their arms patting George on the back. Just sayin'.

Exactly. If the mission had failed the right would be using it to run on in 2012, saying something to the effect of "See...the left and Obama f'ed it up again. America...you need us in 2012 to get tough on defense". Fox would have been all over it and Mr. Ann Coulter would be calling for their collective heads. BUT....since it was Obama in the White House, well.....it's something anyone would have done. He could have nixed the whole thing. He didn't, and the right wing is beside itself, now madder than ever. Give it a few days and watch their spin. It'll be hilarious.

Of course.....unless it was a republican prez....then we'd be hearing from pukin' Palin or the like, praising the "tough on defense" blah, blah,blah....

That should thrill you Tom. Any republican attempt to spin this issue in any way is a lose-lose proposition. The republicans need to take their medicine and praise the President for a job well done. If you want to discredit your political competitors, you don't attack their victories, you expose their failures. Perhaps I should be in politics. As long as they let me call everyone a clown, I think I could do a very good job.
