Pet Dogs More Damaging to the Environment Than SUVs - ABC News Taking the dog for a walk to the store would seem like a more environmentally-friendly option than piling into the SUV. Not so, say two New Zealand scientists whose new book claims pets have a carbon footprint that is about twice the size of the gas guzzling vehicles that have long been a bane of environmentalism.
That does not even make sense to me. I would much rather take the dog for a walk as you save wear and tear on your car and the gas pollution. I think whoever wrote this article smoked crack.
LoL, tell us how you really feel Angie.... but yea it is a little hard to understand how it could be. But then, the research comes from someone in New Zealand, and they have a special brand of crazy down there so it's easier to dismiss.
I think it all goes back to 'carbon footprint' stuff. The green house gasses it takes to feed, water, etc a dog. Probably growing processing transporting food. treating water. Making toys probably too. Lol
