What do you think of spanking children? To me there is a difference between getting a swat on the butt and beating your child. I was spanked as a child if I did something wrong and I see nothing wrong with it. I do not mean beat your child. Just a swat on the rear end never hurt anything. Too many people are afraid of child abuse these days but I do not see this as a form of abuse.
I dunno Jack could be politics considering the "legalities" of discipline. That aside I was NEVER beaten as a child. Dad was out of town a lot and mom took care of things. She did it well and I love her for it. Usually it was a smack when needed. At times I saw the dreaded wooden spoon or a belt. I was not beaten with these but they hurt more. I'll tell y'all this much. IF I saw the spoon or belt I knew I had screwed up and wouldn't do whatever it was I did again. I'm the youngest of five and we were rarely spanked or faced the spoon or belt. Probably because we knew and respected the consequences of doing wrong.
As it realy has become a political issue then here is fine, I would personaly go with using a tazer on them as that way they would get the full shock treatment, if that fails to work well there is allways the rack or the wheel
Interesting opinion - how we raise our children is now a political decision. And then you wonder why we have problems?
Now what I said is not a opinion it is a fact of life, care to check out just how many laws and regulations govern the way you bring up a child?
That is why I posted it in this section. I see it as being a political issue because you can not spank a child out and about because if someone sees it, then they can turn you in for child abuse. In my eyes it is politics.
I work in a school system and think that it should be up to the parent to spank the child. I do not feel it is our responsibility. I have had a few parents tell me if the child gets into trouble just pop them one. And the thing is they really meant it!
