What a utter load of tosh, sure I would be the first to admit that some people would cast a vote for a candidate on the colour of his skin (we have the BNP over here) but to say that they lost the mid-term due to that fact is crass. They lost due to a number of factors, the Economy had not improved fast enough, worries about health care, cases of corruption, mid term inertia, Job losses, concerns about taxation, The ongoing war, the list is quite long LOL

Maybe one of the bigger reasons they lost was because of speeches like this.

The interesting part is that Republicans say that blacks voted for Obama to the tune of 93 + percent because he was black when in reality, blacks vote for the Democratic presidential candidate to the tune of 93 + percent regardless of the skin color of the candidate. To believe that many old white voters went out in 2010 and voted Republican because Obama is black isn't a real stretch of the imagination. I don't know what percent of people voted that way and I seriously doubt anyone else does either but to deny racism motivates some voters is just plain putting your head in the sand. Racism is a fact of life in this country, always has been, probably will be for the foreseeable future if the Republican Party and the race bating Fox News Network has anything to say about it.

93%+ and you think racism had nothing to do with it. Very interesting. That would be so easy to prove, if I just had the time. I wonder why the lame-stream media hasn't done it yet - or maybe they have and don't want to release the results. BTW, Kerry did not get 93% of the black vote. Gore did not get 93% of the black vote. In fact, none in the last 50 years have even reached 90%.

".......many old white voters out in 2010 and voted Republican because Obama is black". That depends on your definition of "many". I am old and white and most of my friends are old and white, but I do not know of one of them who voted against Obama because he was black. I do know a whole bunch who voted against BO because they were scared $#%!less of what he would do to taxes, the economy, health care, et al. (Unfounded fears?) Don't take this too far. I am not saying there is no racism. Just that it is not as predominant as some believe it to be.

Yes, racism remains a fact of life in this country, always has been, probably will be for the foreseeable future if the Democratic Party and the race bating lame-stream networks has anything to say about it.

If only you could stop posting misinformation:

Gore Got 95 percent of the black vote
Kerry 93 percent of the black vote
Obama got 96 percent of the black vote

One issue that is conveniently left out of these discussions is how many black voters who hadn't participated previously voted in '08 or registered for the first time only to vote for BO? 95% of a much, much higher number resulted in many more votes for BO in '08. We all saw the interviews on tv where voters freely admitted as much...I personally stood in line behind a group that was proud to tell everyone in the room they were only voting because a black man was running (they took great offense when it was pointed out that he was half white by the way).
This of course gave rise to the Acorn fiasco and the resulting fraud.
