Arizona Rep Shot in Head

Just picked this bit of news up

Arizona Democratic Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot on Saturday morning while hosting an event outside of a Tucson grocery store, according to local news reports.

National Public Radio reported Saturday that Giffords, who in November narrowly won re-election to a third term, was hosting her first "Congress on Your Corner" event when a gunman ran up and began shooting.

According to a local news report, Giffords was shot in the head at point-blank range. She was taken to University Medical Center in Tucscon; her condition was not immediately known

 

Violence is never the answer. From what I've seen on the news, it doesn't look good. I hope the best for her.

 

It was just reported that her wounds were fatal. Also about a dozen other people were shot.

 

Sad stuff.

 

As best I can pick out, her prognosis is "good" and her wounds were not fatal although several others did die including a judge.

 

Thank God. It was reported that she had died, but that was erroneous. Five other people died, however.

 

Just insane. Reports say it may have been political but not partisan. Just a messed up kid.

 

Sad sad news.......I caught a little bit of it this morning before heading out to work, and it has interupted all local news since I returned home. Very sad indeed. I hope the sick individual who did this is caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Gabby as we called her here in AZ was a great woman with quite a story.

I agree with you on this one. Killing someone resolves nothing. The political preference of this nut has nothing to do with anything. He's a friggin' whack job. The media that keeps trying to blame it on the right is ridiculous. Right, left....this guy is a looney tune. Sad that the media's agenda has to approach it from that angle. Such is life.
