I have mixed feelings about Mercy Killing . What does everyone else think. On one hand you should be able to decide if you live but on the other hand I do not think that one should help someone else end their life.
Are you referring to euthanasia or suicide? If euthanasia, I believe dying with dignity is preferable to being kept alive with no quality of life just because we have the technology to do so. If suicide, you should have the right to end your own life if you have a terminal illness. However, suicide because life is just too difficult leaves a lot of other victims behind. 10 years ago, one of my wives students committed suicide because he could bare to let his parents find out he was gay. His pain ended but his family’s pain goes on. You can’t legislate suicide away but you can change society so that people don’t feel like suicide is their only option.
I was referring to Euthanasia. But anyone can feel free to say what they feel about suicide. My fiancees cousin committed suicide. No one knows why. He had it all- the great girlfriend, he was attractive, got good grades. I guess no one knows what is going on in their heads.
I would like the choice if life became so intolrable for me, without the worry that any one who might assist in any way would face prosecution
Steve, I'd be happy to kill you and flee the country prior to prosecution. Just give me the word. LOL!
I tend to think that any adult should have the right to choose to end their own life or have someone else end it for them if they so choose.
Nope. An adult should be able to decide if they want their life to end. Not the supermarket or the government.
I do not think that the government should have any say in it either. They have enough say in how I live my life already!
