It specifically has as its goal a process to ensure that the United States practices do not result in the transfer of individuals to other nations to face torture or otherwise for the purpose, or with the effect, of undermining or circumventing the commitments or obligations of the United States to ensure the humane treatment of individuals in its custody or control. However, the executive order did not end the practice of rendition by the United States.


Note that the article states that the Executive Order's specific goal is to ensure that the US. practices do not result in (rendition torture) - not that it ends rendition. Moen, please read the last sentence very carefully. Also, please cite your reference and/or Executive Order in which Obama has halted the practice of rendition.

 

You said his illegal affairs. But I saw that you corrected yourself. But the correction just didnt fit.

I apologized for using the word "affairs" in talking about Bill Clinton because I could see how someone could take that out of context.

I corrected myself by saying, "I apologize for using the word "affairs" in this context. I didn't mean for it to be defined as "an extra-marital affair" as I agree with you that they're not illegal. I meant the word to be defined as "business affairs" or "political affairs".

So, what didn't fit??

It wasnt his business affairs that were the subject of his perjury. The correction seemd out of place to me since you were talking about his sexual encounter. Hey, its just what I think is all.

OK that was good. I like reading stuff like this because it gives me a better understanding of what is at issue here. Issa seems to equate the presidents agenda (which he is completely in his right to have as is with all other presidents) with propaganda. So if Obama uses the bully pulpit (again like all other presidents) he is guilty of using public funds for "propaganda". Good luck Issa! This is so flimsy, it is laughable.

 

Of course he isn't, but that doesn't excuse him does it? If other presidents lied or not is always a matter of speculation and usually fuelded by partisanship. But not Clinton...he virtually came into our living rooms, looked us in the eye & proceeded to lie...he exhibited a total lack of character that resounded around the world, making us a laughing stock and lowering the bar for generations to come.
The fact that you don't get that is okay as it speaks as much about you as it does Clinton.

Now, if you'll take that apart, I wasn't remarking on his sexual conduct. I was commenting on the fact that he perjured himself under oath. The basis of his perjury just happened to be his sexual conduct. I personally couldn't care less about his sexual conduct (that's between him, his wife, his mistress and his dog). But, I do care about my president lying under oath. That's call perjury.

I've already apologized for using the word "affairs" when talking about Bill Clinton because that word could be misconstrued. I should have used the word "concerns" or "matters".

 

I guess you should be pretty pissed at George then. He took an oath to protect and defend our country. He then proceeded to lie to us a into a war. His action, his failure to act properly killed American citizens. I could run down a list of lies that man spewed, but you'd poo poo it all I'm sure.
So what you're really saying is it's cool for the Prez to lie, just make sure he isn't first under oath. Then it's acceptable. You're cool with lying us into war, but not about b*owjob, because one was under oath and the other one wasn't, crimes not withstanding.

Instead of investigating corruption in the Obama administration perhaps he should investigate incompetence. That should take him all of three hours to document several volumes.

 

Always so personal. Lied or not? You cant recall any other president lying right in our living rooms? Oh I get it. What bothers me more is that his sex life was of great concern. So great that he was subpoenaed to confess his indiscretions. He lied, thats for sure. I wouldve said, ''F%&k you.'', and walked out. Yes, Congress has the right to ask you anything. But should they actually ask anything. I think that lowered the bar as well. It was a dog and pony show from all involved.

 

So lying while not under oath is ok? He shouldve never been held under oath to address his sexual conduct!! That was the disgrace.
