LOL you call that violence Peter ? not a gun in sight, no water cannons, no tear gas, oh and we dont then torture them and force them to repent on tv Now if people wish to demonstrate in a civilized fashion that goes smoothly but when they start to destroy things then what are the police to do? Sometimes the police have over reacted that happens but to say it is a violation of there human rights LOL sorry but that is at least laughable Ps dont believe me check out how the Iranians deal with peaceful protesters (a hint they shoot them)
Yep when they are having rocks thrown at them and been beaten with metal scafolding poles as I said they have been known to over react but that is in a minority of cases and when it happens they find themselfs in a court of law. Now to focus on Tom's comments the strange thing is that most of those who caused the trouble actualy come from wealthy backgrounds! for example the son of Dave Gilmour. If you take the time to look at a number of the groups who get involved in these events and go on to cause mayhem you will find rather a large percentage actualy come from privlaged backgrounds and went to the best schools LOL These people were there to protest hikes in University fees, now can you tell me how smashing shops, attacking the Prince of Wales, desacrating war memorials, burning benches etc is going to endear them to the majority of the public? This was not a protest about Capitalism or G20
Thats what I said it was Tom, and not for the poorer students, it has gone from £3 thousand to a maximum of £9 thousand (they have not said that the collages HAVE to charge the upper limit but given them the option) Students whos families are on low income will still get the majority of there tuition fees paid for them. In reality the change might still not come about as the bill is now passed to the House of Lords and it is thought that they will veto it in it's present form meaning that it will have to go back to the commons for another round LOL Now all that said again I ask why go on the rampage destroying things and attacking people is that any way to actualy try and influence anyone except in a negative manner? The goverment we have in place at the moment is in many ways the same type as was seen under Margret Thatcher and believe me she showed no mercy to demonstrators.. The Home Office is allready considering the use of harsher methods inclusding water cannons if this sort of affair happens again. Now if you think that is harsh try looking up French riots, or German or the latest in Rome and you willsee a marked difference in the behaviour of the security apparutus LOL
The slow boiling of the frog saying comes to mind. Again, glad you're so happy with being dictated to by your superiors. (never liked Margaret Thatcher either by the way....reminds me of the Bush family).
Hrere you go again Tom what gives you the right to say if I am happy or not with the situation? What I do not condone is the violence shown by a small minority of the protesters but then again you of course support such actions to the limit dont you? There you see I can also decide on what you like or dont without even knowing you.
