    Good thread Tom
Sam Walton built Walmart on selling American made goods, when he died, the greed took over. Sad but true.

I am not buying anything from Walmart, instead I choose to support the locl mom and pop, non chain stores when I can. I also do not dine out at chain restauraunts, except an occasional burger from In -n-Out Burger, a privatly held small burger chain in AZ/CA/NV....

The cameras are very disturbing also, 1984 is coming true every day.

Why would tom advocate a boycott of his own employer?

It is really too bad that since he died Walmart has been about greed. I like the idea of shopping locally so we can help out small shops and owners a long the way.

The market model that every corporate greedster "conducting business" aspires to be. Profit, more profit, and then there's more.

To paraphrase Lennon...If everyone demanded peace instead of cheap big screen tv's, then there'd be peace.

Big screen tv's it is I guess. People are stupid. I know you knew that already though.

The US people are trained that way. Look at what Bush said after 911. Go shop. Look at the stimulus plans of Obama and the (Bush) Obama Tax Cuts in the news right now. Go shop. The political leaders know that the best way to keep themselves in power is to make sure people go shop. If you have a new big screen TV, things can't be all bad.

Well, I guess the only way to proceed is peaceful revolution or actually electing someone who gives a crap about who they represent or actually represents the majoritys best interests (which ain't gonna happen), so, peaceful revolution is all that leaves. Boycott creeps like Walmart. Don't fly as an answer to those enforced feel ups at airports. Bank locally avoiding the corporate giants. Support your local businesses, again avoiding the big pigs. Anything that's big in name and has stores everywhere...don't patronize them. Anything with "inc" at the end of their names...find an alternative. I don't buy gas from BP or Exxon. People can effect change to some degree if they care enough to do so. The only way to catch the big pigs attention is to affect their portfolios. People en mass could do that if they chose to do so. Won't happen though cause people are stupid. They watch buildings fall down in the middle of the afternoon and never question anything. Yes...people are stupid and we're all done.
