Exactly what will the Right wing consider a success in the midterms? We all know that the party in power almost always loses seats in the midterms so what would the Right consider "winning" rather than just the usual outcome of the midterms? A. Any gains at all B. Enough seats to take the House C. Enough seats to take the Senate D. Enough seats to take both the House and the Senate E. None of the above What is your personal level of success for the midterms? Try and remember that the presidency isn't up for grabs this time around.
I don't think the extremists of the Republican party will be happy until they topple our government, and replace it with a Taliban-style quasi-religious Junta.
Well there are memebers in here who confidently call out, ''Wait till Novemeber!!!''. So I dont think any gains at all is what they are sure will happen. They are looking for a complete shake up. With the reins of power handed over to the other party. However, if ''any gains'' at all occurs, I'm sure it will be seen as a victory.
And I would like to see the massive expansion of Big Government we saw under George W Bush pealed back. Patriot Act anyone? Oh, and enjoy your Full Body Probe, next time you try to fly anywhere, courtesy of the GOP.
That's right, wait till November. This monopoly on our government train is going to end. I will be happy with B but D would have been nice if that idiot O'Donnell hadn't won the primary. Personally, I always want the government in gridlock. The only thing they are successful at is ****ing stuff up. If we have a Democratic President and a Republican Congress, gridlock is inevitable and enjoyable. I look forward to them doing nothing until 2012. No, that will not make me happy!
Agree. Except BO expanded it and signed it into permanant law.... Any gains will be a win. The conservatives have already won tho......not to do an i told ya so, but 3 years ago I predicted BO would be the best thing ever to happen to the conservative movement.
A little overly dramatic, Peter? I fly as much as, if not more than, anyone here and I can honestly say I have never been subjected to a full body probe. In fact, I can't recall any other instance where I have felt violated by any provision of the Patriot Act. What have been your experiences?
Sounds like youre disappointed. Maybe you are using the wrong mouthwash. You dummy. If it never happened to you, then it doesnt happen.
Latest airport technoligy is a scanner that will show you buck naked under your clothing to the security personel, they are slowly been introduced here in europe and at a number of US airports http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2010/jan/04/new-scanners-child-porn-laws
I've seen a few stories about the Full Body Probe, but this is the most recent one that I had in mind when I made the post you replied to. http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/local&id=7734339
Yea but david has never been subjected to that. Therefore it is all a lie. David, buy a one-way ticket at the last minute. And be the sanctimonius drip to the TSA that you are to people in here. See what happens.
Why? If planning ahead & being polite is all you need to be insulated from the inconveniences of the Patriot Act, sign me up!
So being a milquetoast get you through the line without incident. You must be so proud. Hey can you please post that article you read about theose terrible blu states, NY and IL. thanks.
Getting to the airport on time & being decent to TSA workers is somehow "milquetoast" to you? Odd. Well, maybe not odd for a genius.
