From an Arizona resident who is in touch, let me explain the real John McCain. I am discusted he won his primary. John McCain voted against the border fence regularly as a Senator from 2000-2007. He ran on " build a fence " He co-wrote a " Carbon tax " bill...... He ran on " No Cap and Trade " He wrote an Amnesty bill with Ted Kennedy He ran on " No amnesty for illegals " He voted against the Bush tax-cuts He ran on " lower taxes " !!!!!!! When I say ran on, I mean against JD Hayworth, the other fake serpent crook Repo in the primary John McCain, the poster boy for the Campaign Finance Reform bill he co wrote with Russ Feingold, spent $21,000,000 to get his $170,000 a year job back. Money he had left over from his presidential bid....why did you not use that $$$ to campaign against BO? Tht money was given to you by Republicans to fight a Democrat, NOT A REPUBLICAN !!! John McCain is a tired old deep Washington insider.....endorsed by megawhor.e Sarah Palin, who is stumping to rid Washington of " tired old deep Washington insiders " and give it back to the people....Really Sarah....Did you get your index cards mixed up again? Hollywood screenwriters could not make this up John McCain, it the likes of you, George W Bush, Lindsey Graham that forced me to leave the party I have belonged to my entire adult life. You are the most dispicable, dishonest, false, fake, twofaced slimy serpent in Washington. Mitt Romney, dont hide, your right up there with them. I have more respect for Nancy Pelosi, at least she is who she is and you know what your getting with her. Now that McCain has won the primary and probably his Senate seat back, please, somebody, anybody, after the midterms, please nail one of John McCains shoes to the floor. Then he can only run in circles and not straight back to the left.
Maybe he wants to join the Kennedy/Byrd club, I don't know. I'm just trying to highlite the effect that lifetime politicians have on our system. Term limits? Perhaps...... Any other ideas?
Elect John and Sarah as President and Vice President leaps to mind. Term limitations there. I"m sure the country would be better off with them leading it. Seriously though Jack. You do a lot of reading and research and I know our capabilities to do same have changed dramatically since we were young (as in no internet). Why would you lock yourself into one party? To me that's just retarded for lack of a better word. People can think what they will of me but I think I'm one of the few here that can say they've honestly voted Democrat, Republican and Independent in Presidential elections and in lower offices as well. Maybe more people need to do that.
How about term limits & abolishing lifetime pensions and benefits? I would also favor a reduction in pay for members of Congress.
