Well, we haven't had a Palin thread in a little while and she is always so entertaining. Here is her latest attempt at self-promotion which seems to have only chased away the last tiny numbers of minority Republicans left in the country. I find it funny that she is still the leading GOP candidate ahead of the likes of Gingrich and Romney. Keep up your support of racism Sarah!

Black Republicans tell John Avlon that Sarah Palin's tweet in defense of Dr. Laura was ridiculous and indefensible—and that she may be "no longer fit to lead."
Sarah Palin’s post-VP nominee career has so far benefitted from bomb-throwing. The process follows a tight script—a crude, semi-calculated comment is shot into the middle of a political debate via Facebook or Twitter. It gains national attention. Liberals are outraged. Conservatives rush to her defense. Sarah Palin dominates a news cycle and becomes more beloved by her base.
But by unnecessarily rushing to the defense of Dr. Laura Schlessinger—after she dropped the N-bomb 11 times and told the caller “don’t marry outside of your race”—Sarah Palin might finally have gone too far and picked a fight she cannot win.
This is the sound of Sarah Palin jumping the shark in two tweets:
• Dr.Laura:don't retreat ... reload! (Steps aside bc her 1st Amend.rights ceased 2exist thx 2activists trying 2silence"isn't American,not fair")

The few black conservative candidates, columnists, and media figures—who represent the GOP’s only hope for reclaiming the legacy of Lincoln and, with it, long-term demographic relevance—are not amused. They’re now saying what many in the GOP increasingly believe: Sarah Palin is not fit to be a serious leader of the Republican Party.
I spoke to Michel Faulkner, the former NFL player and Harlem preacher challenging Charlie Rangel for a House seat, and he was unsparing in his criticism: “Why Sarah Palin feels she needs to join in to Dr. Laura’s personal meltdown is beyond me. She’s sounding like she just likes to hear her own voice—and the voice that she has is no longer credible. It says that a leading voice among conservatives has joined the ranks of the entertainers—trying to shock us each day with more and more outlandish commentary. And at that moment that person is no longer fit to lead.”
“The constitutional stuff she’s saying doesn’t even make any sense,” Faulkner said. “She doesn’t know what real shackles are… But ‘don’t retreat, reload?’ Lady, are you kidding me? That is scary language in anyone’s terminology. Sarah Palin scares me.”

 

Who the heck would even read Palin's twitters, tweets or anything else? Let alone get their panties in a jumble over it. She's an entertainer. The Paris Hilton of politics.

 

My guess is the majority of Republicans that would support her 2012 run for our highest office? That's who. I'm sure they live or die on her every mangled up sentence and mispronounced word.

Dr. Laura says something stupid, certainly not a first, and Palin rushes to her rescue. Isn't her (Palin's) witch doctor the same color as Reverend Wright?

Scary thing is people actually listen to her with big ole blinders on. The Republican party needs to tell this broad to take a hike before it's too late.

 

It seems that Palin has already doubled down in support of Dr Laura. For Palin, reaffirming her idiotic comments is nothing she hasn't done before. However, while defending Dr Laura's First Amendment rights it seem not too long ago, Palin was more than happy to restrict Rahm Emanuel's First Amendment rights to free speech when she criticized him for letting slip the "R" word. That's right "retard". Saying the "N" word over the air waves repeatedly apparently is OK with Palin but using the "R" word in a private setting is completely offensive. What a world Sarah! What a world you live in.

Sarah Palin defends Dr. Laura's racist rant. After a disgraced Dr. Laura Schlessinger announced her retirement from talk radio Sarah Palin came to her defense. Offering encouraging words to the discredited talk show host, Palin used Twitter to send a message: “Dr.Laura: don't retreat... reload!”

Reload what? More racist rants? More gratuitous and offensive use of the word "nig*er?" What, exactly, is Palin thinking?

Dr. Laura's behavior on the radio was nothing short of outrageous. Among other things, Dr. Laura bullied a black female caller, telling the woman she is hypersensitive while taunting her by repeating the word "nig*er" 11 times.

Palin's defense of Schlesinger's foul mouthed racism is puzzling. Several months ago Palin was adamant that using terms like "nig*er" were sufficient cause for dismissal:

"I would ask the president to show decency in this process by eliminating one member of [his] inner circle, Mr. Rahm Emanuel," Palin wrote in February. "The Obama Administration's Chief of Staff scolded [liberal critics] calling them, 'F---ing retarded,' according to several participants, as reported in the Wall Street Journal. Just as we'd be appalled if any public figure of Rahm's stature ever used the "N-word" or other such inappropriate language, Rahm's slur on all God's children with cognitive and developmental disabilities - and the people who love them - is unacceptable, and it's heartbreaking."

The noxious smell of hypocrisy is overwhelming. Palin's double standard, while despicable, is not surprising. Again and again Palin demonstrates a profound lack of character; she is without honor.

Palin's defense of Dr. Laura is clearly political, as was her attack on Emanuel. Both are examples of Palin seeking cheap political points, throwing tainted red meat to an unsavory base.

What is funny is that Dr. Laura was once one of Palin's fiercest critics. Dr. Laura on Palin, the then new Vice Presidential candidate:

I’m stunned — couldn’t the Republican Party find one competent female with adult children to run for Vice President with McCain? I realize his advisers probably didn’t want a “mature” woman, as the Democrats keep harping on his age. But really, what kind of role model is a woman whose fifth child was recently born with a serious issue, Down syndrome, and then goes back to the job of governor within days of the birth?

Palin and Schlesinger are two peas in a pod. Both share a mean spirit, and a conservative hypocrisy.

 

Palin is a skank.
She is against " typical Washington career politicians " yet endorses John McCain for senate......Sarah is a political *****.

Palin is the complete political "opportunist" shall we say. She is far richer this year than she was last year and that is due to her pimping her status out to the highest bidder as the former VP candidate in a national election. I don't mind that she was able to parley her public position into cash, or that her family was able to jump on the gravy train along with her, or that she quit politics to pursue something she really wanted $$$. What I mind is the way she is doing it. Whipping up stupid people with inflammatory rhetoric without any regard for the possible consequences of her words puts her in the category of dangerously close to causing events that she and we can't control. Her loaded words are not accidental. They are intentional and highly divisive at a time when this country needs to pull together. She adds nothing but gasoline to the flames of discontent.

 

You know, I guess I look at BO the way some of you look at Palin. In virtually every post in this thread I could substitute BO for Palin & be spot on. Political opportunist? No doubt. Inflammatory, false rhetoric? Check. Whipping idiots into frenzy? Duh.

The difference between Palin & BO is her resume...can't argue with her record of success & accomplishments. Too many have bought into the left/SNL caricatures and haven't paid a bit of attention to what she has really done. The left's media has latched onto a couple of "gotcha' moments and made fun of her accent, convincing the lemmings she is somehow unqualified.

 

The difference is that she has boobs and he doesn't. And if Sarah Palin looked like Janet Reno, no one would give a damn what she said.

You know, clembo, I hate to say it but yours was the typical response of the exact people I was referring to in my post. You think she's a joke because the liberal media has portrayed her that way. You can't (or won't) see the similarities- his actual, hers a caricature- that us on the right see in BO. What strikes me in your post & the post of others who have been similarly influenced is that no one will address her resume, her successes or her accomplishments.

 

One of my big problems with Palin (and most all of the Tea Party) is that they aren't for real Liberty and Freedoms...they are for their Liberties and their Freedoms...the ones that they approve of and only the ones they approve of. Otherwise, they would be all over supporting this Mosque thing. It is a property rights issue. A religious rights issue. Things these so called 'Freedom Lovers' should be supporting it like there is no tomorrow.

Plus she is annoying, condescending and annoying. Did I mention annoying?

Seriously, who needs to list her resume or accomplishments? What has she accomplished recently besides making money?

If you want to see a lemming perhaps you should look in a mirror. If you want to shout typical I suggest you read post number six. Certainly not a person I would call a "typical" or "liberal'.

I'd go one step further. I heard what must have been a C-SPAN excerpt of some old while republican senator complaining that his freedoms had eroded over the years and all he wanted was a return to those days of freedom.

I think it may have been Any Klobuchar or Barbara Boxer, or one of the other few women in the senate that spoke next and really put this guy right in his place. She began by saying that during the era this guy was talking about, there were no women in the senate, they weren't allowed even basic political considerations and how today woman and minorities have more opportunities. She basically said that while he felt that his freedoms had been eroded, the opportunities for women, minorities, and other non-white males had increased if only incrementally.

The long and the short of it of course was that as this white male senator felt like his freedoms were decreasing over time, other groups were making strides just to get to the level he had enjoyed his entire life. Maybe that is what people like Palin want to return to. The good old days of the dominant white male society. I hate to tell people like Palin and Beck, the Koch brothers, and the rest, but those days are all but over.

Palin and her ilk are the types that brought up prohibition in the 20 and 30ies, shoved Japanese-Americans in internment camps in the 40ies, called for more McCarthy hearings in the 50ies, supported separate but equal in the 60ies, beat up war protesters in the 70ies, brought us the Patriot Act in the 00's and on and on. Now it is Mosques and Gay Marriage. Same old, same old.
