Because most people took grave offense at the destruction of the WTC by 19 muslims. And, in spite of you objections, they were all muslims. Because you do not agree with the majority does not give you free reign to dictate our feeling. Notice I said nothing about their or your rights.

As for the Republican "substantive political solutions", how about cut the taxes and give business an idea of what they will be living with at least in the near future. That has worked in the recessions of the past. Instead, they get higher taxes, no idea what is in for them in the future even in the bills that have been passed, and a government spending itself into a grave.

    Moen1305 Not Republican!

Ahhh! The good old return to the policies of the past because the huge tax cuts the rich already got produced the lowest number of jobs created by any president in history. Nice!

I love the sincere way the shills for the wealthy frame this bit of logic. They complain that small businesses will be hurt if the tax cuts expire the way the Republicans that enacted them designed them to expire. The fact is only 2% of small business make over $300 thousand and they would only pay an extra $5000 dollars in additional taxes. The other 98% of the restored taxes would be paid by millionaires and billionaires but you never hear the Republicans mention this. They only talk about the effects on small businesses. If the 2% of small business owners can't afford $5000 a year after 8 years of tax breaks, they are most likely going under anyway. The Republicans make a living defining issues in terms of the consequences that are least significant to divert the attention from the real issues.

Moen, you wrote that you cant believe folks here are wasting their time with this issue. You are the one who brought it up. Yea it was 19 people who destroyed both towers. And they were muslim. That doesnt mean all muslims were in on it. If it was the IRA, would a McAnns(a string of pubs located throughout Manhattan)opening in the same place draw so much heat? I doubt it. Would a Catholic church? Because most IRA members are Catholic. Its not sacred ground. Its not. Its where alot of people were murdered. Ground zero is just a battle cry for the 21st century. Like "Remember the Maine!'. No one remembered it when Bautista was murdering all his opposition. But this country kept supporting him. Its just that 9/11 is still fresh in our minds. And there are alot of people who like to stoke the fire, so most Americans stay angry about it. But it'll pass. Do I think they should build it. Ha!. Hell no. Do I care if they do? The same answer.

Show me the stats by a reputable source. Secondly, show me the recession we have spent our way out of. Thirdly, tell me (the business world, mostly) just what they are in for in the next 2 years. Your 2500+ page welfare bill (AKA health bill) has not even been written (most of it directs the bureaucrats to write the regulations) yet let alone knowing how much it will cost everyone.

There is something else beside the 19 muslims. Can you name 2 skirmishes presently going on in the world that DO NOT involve the muslims against someone else.

.........................................You were the one who mentioned 19 Muslims. So I really dont know what you mean by the question. If you mean Iraq and Afghanistan, I think we started those. Are you saying if the Cosa Nostra murdered a bunch of Americans, we should invade Italy?

Actually, no. It was in one of your posts long before mine. Since what you quoted were all statements of fact, I have no idea what question you are referencing. The entire post you referenced was a statement of fact.

Are you saying I wrote this sometime ago? And you started a word group with 'Can'. I took it for granted you meant it as a question. Post #107 was regarding your post #106. I quoted post #101 because you didnt say there was something more in that post. You only said because of 19 muslims.

But that is not the post you referenced previously. We started them? If my memory is correct, something else that starts with the word "United" started them.

As for my question, there are numerous skirmishes presently going on in the world. I assume you know the definition of skirmish. Just to name a few, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Sudan, Somalia, Kazakhstan, Croatia, Kenya, Eritrea, Timor, etc. Every one of those in some way involves mulims. Now can you name 2 where there is no muslim involvement?

No I cannot. But that doesnt mean ALL muslims are involved. I dont think that Enright guy had some intel on that Paki-muslim cabbie that compelled him to start slashing. Hopefully that cab driver doesnt jump the gun and fugure all Americans feel that way and starts rethinking how he feels about this country. Believe me I'm no fan of muslims, but I dont have tunnel vision either.

I never said all. However, does it not seem strange that I can name 13 (and there are more) with mulims involved, but you can name none without muslims involvement. To make it more complicated, there is more than one sect of muslimism. I have no evidence for this, but I would be reasonably sure these skirmishes primarily involve only one of these sects.

BTW, the one I am aware of not involving muslims is Argentina (I think).

Doesnt seem to strange to me. Because I really dont care all that much. LOL, I didnt even know there was a country called Eritrea. And I'm all broke up about Kenya.

Ground Zero Mosque Developer Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, a Slumlord and Tax Cheat?

Rauf has a 1 bedroom apartment and apparently has "tax-free" church status - he claims that 500 people use it as a worship space.

Rauf owns buildings across the Hudson River in several New Jersey cities, which he reportedly renovated with tax dollars. He developed the properties with the help a series of government grants and loans totaling in the millions — including $384,000 in 1989 endorsed by Sen. Bob Menendez (D., N.J.), then mayor of Union City, and $1,295,000 underwritten by then Hudson County executive Robert C. Janiszewski, who would later serve time in federal prison on corruption charges.

Rauf’s buildings dating back decades and continuing to this day: heaps of garbage, overgrown grass, lack of heat and hot water; rat, cockroach, and bedbug infestations; and general filth.
Residents, many of whom are immigrants and most of whom are working-class Hispanic Catholics, say they have complained about unsanitary conditions for years. The imam, however, has done little to make repairs or exterminate vermin, they claim. "There are bed bugs and a lot of rats," said Jane Thane, 17, who has lived at 2206 Central Ave., Union City for three years, after her former home, also owned by Rauf, burned down. "Last week we catched six rats in the apartment."
Thane said five other family members share the three bedroom apartment and many of their neighbors have been forced to throw away mattresses and linens because of bed bug infestations.
Thane said her parents have complained to the building's superintendent and Rauf's wife Daisy Khan, but nothing has ever been done.
"We call, but they don't do anything about it. The super says he can't do anything either. Sometimes they say they take care of things, but no one believes them anymore," she said. "We don't trust them."

She's lived there for three years? What is she waiting for? Move already. If you have bedbugs its because your a dirty person and dont clean properly. Dont try to pass it off on the owner of the building. He doesnt own the matress. Besides its New Jersey. Thats like Shangrila to them.
