So you think that corporate executives lay off workers in order to stuff their own coffers? (Most of the Time)
Gee, you really are a dumba**. What will we get back? Happy employees? More loyal employees? An even better working environment? You're right, we won't make any decisions without getting something in return!
No, I don't think. In my experience, the problem in the world is not evil, it is incompetence. More often than not, the corporate decision to cut labor costs is directly related to quarterly performance. If the idiots at the top don't know how to run the company and they don't meet their projected revenue figures, they risk losing their own job when the owner or board of directors review their performance. So you see it is not greed in the sense that they want more, it is simply the natural reaction to protect their already cushy salary & compensation package. If they expect to keep their jobs and revenues are down, then expenses had better be down also. The quickest easiest expense to slash for any company is the labor costs. You can keep thinking that they have some evil master plan to take every dollar but they don't. In fact, most would be happy just to check in every once in a while between rounds of golf. Most of them have very little experience dealing with the actual workers and have no problems eliminating their jobs since their is no personal attachments. It really is as easy as pressing the delete button on the keyboard. It is convenient for you to believe that the corporate executives are all evil ruthless criminals. In reality, they are just lazy incompetent slobs like the majority of the work force.
In my first response to your question I gave you honest helpful advice. I was sincere and realistically it was the best advice you'll get from anyone in this forum on this subject. The 3 question you are complaining and whining endlessly that I did not answer, and you're right I did ignore them, because I couldn't possibly answer them without knowing the people involved and I obviously don't. Why even ask questions that can't be answered. I'd bet you've never met this instructor either. You're going on the word of a teenage girl that has never lied to you, never pulled the wool over your eyes, and has been nothing but honest with you since the day she was born. Don't feel bad, I meet clueless parents all the time. Chances are you're probably being played and I bet that you've never stopped to even consider that possibility either, and I said possibility. I'm sorry if my words are too big, the bill is too long, the solution too complicated.... The same criticism is constantly leveled at the Left when closed minds try and understand but can't and continually adhere to simple-minded solutions. Problems ARE complicated and solutions are rarely easy but that is why they are problems and not former problems. Black and white isn't the only answer in life. At least not outside of ranks of the GOP and the Tea Party crowd.
That's really great David. You'll gain some loyalty and keep some good workers I suppose. A smart move but I still have the question. Has ANYONE questioned the insurance agent about the "blame it on Obama" line?
Fraudster...it's all about the cash...nothing else. Employees are an unfortunate business expense that hasn't yet been automated, outsourced, or eliminated outright. Cash....nothing else...EVER...(but you know that).
No evil master plan...just greed...plain and simple. One guy trying to screw the other guy. Corporate executives are ruthless greedsters, interested in their own well being and nothing else. That's crapitalism today. Mega profit, mega bonuses, mega more. That's all. It's rather elementary actually. There is no other motivation...hasn't been for some time now. Everybody knows it. It's just the corporate suckup management that isn't allowed to admit it. Walmart style exploitation gone mad. Every pencil pusher has a laptop and a an idea of how to extract MORE....the human element far,far removed, as you point out.
Is that the best you can do? That is even worse than the "I know you are but what am I strategy". Enough OK
Not mine. My co-pay has gone up. My coverage has more limits. So go spread that fertilizer on your yard.
I guess using anecdotal examples are good when they support your position, what about it top clown? But then there is my story. I have worked for the same company for over 15 years. Until this January, my health benefits have been basically unchanged. The copay and prescription charge were both $25 and the weekly contribution for single was also $25. The company decided to change our health benefits this year. The good news is that the weekly contribution is unchanged. The other good news is that if you are healthy the entire year the benefits are improved since we are now afforded one free annual doctor visit. The bad news is that past the first doctor visit, there is an $1,800 deductible. Let me say that again. We have to pay an $1,800 deductible. Once I have covered that, then I am blessed with only having to pay 20% of my medical expenses. Wanna hear the prescription plan. Only a limited list of generic drugs are covered and you have to mail order them. The good news is that all of the preventative drugs that are covered are free. The plan does not pay anything towards any drug not on their list. Don't ya just love Obamacare.
It used to be that every business' major concern was taxes, now it's healthcare. I just don't believe business decisions should have to be based on a an unpopular, poorly conceived government scam.
Did anyone catch that BO administration official claiming BO never promised Obamacare would lower costs or that keeping your family doctor was ever a promise BO made? I caught the tail end of it on NPR yesterday but I didn't hear who the guy was. I thought possibly Carney but I haven't been able to find it today. I guess he also couldn't explain to the interviewer how Obamacare was different from what we already have with Medicaid.
