Well, you're kind of like the schizophrenic heroin addict who shows up for the tenth high school reunion. You kind of stand out, everyone can't help but talk about you, and everyone has to keep one eye on you in case you try to come up from behind and knife them for their wallet.

Sorry, I don't get it, not having any experience with knife-wielding heroin addcits at high schhol reunions, but this sounds like a tomc posting.

I have worked for the government for over 20 years and internal reviews are the best kind of reviews: We looked at what we did and found we didn't do anything wrong! lol

But, truthfully, I doubt they did anything wrong other than be your everyday, typical politicians.

Oh I have no doubt deals were cut, nods and winks exchanged, and ethics were once again stretched to the limits....However, how is this any different from what goes on in politics every day? I think that the current Administration is too smart to do anything more than walk up to the line and lean over it just enough to stay legal.

This hasn't stopped Fox from making it their number 1 story all week and I'm sure that they have managed to work up their true believers into a frenzy over nothing once again. The Fox News talking points, innuendos, half truths, and inferences, will now filter in their zombie consciousness and we get to hear the same nonsense over and over until they have convinced themselves of their own lies and deceit. Lucky us!

I wouldn't say it is 'nothing' but, yes, it is business as usual and another seedy underbelly of our system exposed. Nothing to get overly alarmed about ;)

But I think people should be at least a bit disconcerted about it. Probably a little disgusted too. After all, either side can spin it how they want, but it really is attempting to bribe someone not to run for public office when they want to run and have a good chance of winning.

But, yes, a frenzy is probably too much emotion for anyone to experience for something like this because it is not too surprising and we have turned our heads and accepted even worse in the past and will again in the future. Fortunately for our politicians, our standard are incredibly low. ;)

I guess it is what you would call partisan-based indignation. That wanting so much for a particular side to fail that the level of shock is artificially raised to obnoxious heights. Sort of like a characteristic of one of those French dandies from the 18th century who were excessively concerned with their elegant appearance or any other trivial matter to excess. Oh MY!

The public should be insulted that "the Obama" thinks we are dumb enough to believe this story (conspiracy? where's tomc when you need him?). They expect us to believe that this "job" Stesak was offered not to run against Obama darling Specter was some sort of unpaid advisory post? Yeah, right. The fact that it took several days of hounding from the right (& a question or two from the media) before this version of "the Obama's"story" was presented makes it even more obvious...and Bill (the Predator) Clinton is now involved? Gimme a break.
These are conniving, devious liars we have in charge, folks.
