It all makes sense...Meow living in San Francisco, holding hands and signing songs with all of the pot heads has developed into our liberal sociialist know it all pussy (government knows best).

As for Pelosi...she didn't defeat the republicans. Hell..the republicans had no way near any of the votes to stop this government takeover of 1/6 of our economy...which is now adding 16,000 IRS agents to "enforce" the governent's will. She had to defeat "moderate" democrats in her own party. She had a vast majority in the House and 59 votes in the Senate with a socialists as President. If anything, this should have been a SLAM DUNK with all of the democrats in Congress and the White House. It should have been done months ago IF this bill was sooooooo great, but it is not, and they went against the will of the people and shoved it down our throats anyway.

The republicans could not do anything in Congress to stop or thwart this bill. The Dems had complete control. They will be completely responsible for the mess and I hope they get taken out in the next election.

Pelosi did not defeat anybody except the will of the American people who will be saddled with this government takeover and this bill will destroy America.

We are F--ked by the sociialists of this country.

Yeah! Yeah! The sky is falling and it's raining fire. Chicken Little already played that game and was proven to be a fool too. All this whining for less than a 1% increase on individuals making $200,000 or couples making $250,000 in investment income. Big deal! With all the money Bush and Cheney handed these very same people not to mention what Reagan handed them, I'm not sure how they are even going to notice the increase of .09 percent. It'll probably drive them right into the poorhouse.

Wow are you saying that they have just created 16,000 new jobs for Americans during a recession!! And your complaining? look at it like this that 16000 will pay tax, spend money and in turn create new jobs, if a 1/4 of them now go out and by a new American car just think what that will do for the economy, then if 1/2 decide to redecorate there homes (as they have new jobs and can afford it) plus they will be buying new clothes after all new job new suit it all adds up.

What is sad about Midas and his ilk is that this is nothing more than Right wing scare tactics once again rearing its ugly head. There is nothing in this health care legislation that creates 16,000 IRS jobs. It was just Republican representative Dave Camp of MI speculating that it would take 16,000 additional IRS personnel to carry out the provisions in this legislation. Of course, he is not going to put a piece of legislation he is against in the best possible light but I'm sure that he is more than willing to put it in the worst possible light and then state it as fact for the peons in the ranks of the Republican party to parrot, nothing new about that situation. The Republicans don’t need no stikin’ facts.

Something that actually is in this legislation is incentives that will create 17,000 new primary care physicians over the next 5 years. 17,000! Republicans will not talk about this even though these types of physicians are in dire need in all sectors of this country especially in rural areas. Primary health care helps to dramatically reduce health care costs by not waiting until people are so sick that they clog the ER's and hospitals with more expensive medical care. You will never hear Republicans talking about this part of the law.

What are you smoking? Do you really think one would want to become a doctor and have the goverment dictate his or her income? The vast majority of medical professionals DO NOT want this bill. Reform...yes, but not what the socialists passed this week.

This government takeover is going to actually deter the brightest minds society can offer...after all, if you want the governemt dictating how much one can charge and make...WAIT A MINUTE, that's what socialists WANT.

    My bad...

BTW It's a law not a bill. And if you are going to spew nonsense like, The vast majority of medical professionals DO NOT want this bill." post proof, your opinion just isn't worth all that much around here.

I keep hearing the loons on the Right wing fringe and their corporate shills in congress claim that the American people don't want this health care reform, the vast majority of doctors don't want this, blah, blah, and all the polls are actually exactly the reverse of what they are saying that is until you consult a professional poll organization like Fox News of course. One half of the people that don't want this particular version of health care reform actually want something that goes further not less reform. You can look up your own polls but the last time I checked, the only poll that actually matters is the one taken every four years in the voting booth. Opinions rise and fall as the lies are told and retold. Elections have consequences. Deal with it!

Still hard to imagine a socialist ACORN radical socialist like B.O. actually signing a bill into law. I will never put the word president in front of this socialist. Like his initials, his policies STINK!

He is going to F--K this country. Wanna bet?

He is spending trillions WE DON'T HAVE!!

I think it is just another sign of the uncivil society we live in. Mob mentality accounts for a lot too. I would be very surprised if the people organizing the protests weren;t spewing some hate beforehand in order to get the mob into a frenzy.

What is right and what is wrong is consistant but it is a personal thing too. Depends upon ones ethics and world view. Some people are just more down with things like mob violence than others are.

Heck, I see a lot of what I consider to be hate speech written here. Against Muslims, the rich, democrats, republicans. I gues I should fire up the torches and get the trusty, rusty pitchfork out. Or maybe the batons and brass knuckles.

I just can't figure out who to go after first...the posters? De Orc because he is a moderator? or Peter because he is the site owner.

This post is proof positive that this healthcare crusade was nothing more than a way to feed the left winf elite's egos. It was never about helping people it was about forcing their will, their ideologies on the people.

Actually, it was IRS officials who estimated 16,000 new bureaucrats would be needed to police BOamacare's new layers of redtape & regulation. I know it doesn't really matter to you but you should at least look like you're making an effort to get your facts straight moen.

Nope, socialism rewards the takers & penalizes the givers...some have to pull the cart that everyone else just wants to ride in. Without the rewards that come with pulling how long will it be before everyone wants to ride?

I guess we can add the socialism issue to BO's ever growing list of lies. During the campaign (some make the case that he hasn't stopped campaigning) he denied he was a socialist, well, obviously he is.

Socialism seems to just take money and power from the eletists in private corporations and gives it to the elitists in government. The common folk would appear to still be slaves, just to a different master.

The funny part about this Socialism label the Right wingers are stuck on is that by their definition, ALL of our allies in the world are Socialist. In fact, they are way more Socialist than we are. We're running around associating with, defending, and forming alliances with known Socialists. The other funny part is that they don't seem to be going to hell or on the brink of distruction anymore than we are. If the Right wingers had an honest bone in their bodies or a brain in their heads, they'd admit to themselves and the rest of us that this is no more than government regulation and that calling Socalism is waaaaaaaaay overstating the reality of this government. Of course you'd be talkin' to the drivers of the crazy bus and that ain't gonna get you very far.

Let me ask those drivers a question. Not that they'll answer but it might make them think. Which of these countries are also Socialist countries?

    1. Canada
    2. United Kingdom
    3. Germany
    4. Australia
    5. France
    6. Japan
    7. All of the above

Yes, really, it is simply that their definition is wrong or they don't understand the term. I don't think any of those countries are Socialist (from my knowledge of them anyway). They are often more liberal in a lot of ways than we are at this point and time but really Socialist (with a capital S)? I don't think they know what they are talking about. Places like Cuba and Venezuela are probably the kind of examples of actual Socialism (capital S) in this world that many would be familiar with. Which, in my world view at least, tends to line up pretty well with my Master/Slave statement that I made above.

Now, is that what some liberals are working toward or would like? Probably doesn't take much imagination or conjecture to say 'yes'. I would not be surprised if Tomc's beliefs lined up quite a bit with countries like that. Not trying to be insulting as it is a valid belief system and I am not trying to be sensationalist either but a lot of his philosophies certainly come across that way (Socialism - capital S) to me. But, most of the US or those countries in Europe? Or even liberals on this forum or in this country? Probably not their notion of an ideal system.

First the banks, then the automobile industry, and now healthcare...it is amazing that so many people want the government to take care of them when the government has NEVER delivered an entitlement program that was a better service/product, saved money or reduced costs, or been anything close to a budject or projected budjet. Medicard is off 8 times what it was projected...not 8% but 800%!!

Look at Medicare...Look at Medicaid...look at social security and now socialists have succeeded in extending that giant nipple for more of their people to SUCK on at the expense of the private sector...all in return for votes from the "gimmee-gimmee-gimmee" society.

History has shown that all good republics come to an end. The democrats have put a fork in this country...WE ARE DONE.

As I look at history...didn't Hitler take over the banks, the auto industry and healthcare too?...for the people?...yeah, that worked out, didn't it?
